Gonna have to disagree, Mijares had great skill as a boxer. True he didn't have a lot of power, but his wins over Munoz and Navarro were solid wins against solid opponents. I don't know who you think is a better boxer skill wise at 115, the only one I can think of is Montiel.
Nonito Donaire has more or equal skills with Mijares and definitely has more power...
.
Donaire & Montiel are not technically fighting at 115 at this time (Donaire's next fight is at 112 & Montiel's at 118) so Mijares still has to be considered one of the best at that weight. He beat Munoz, who beat Nashiro. He beat Navarro & Arce. That puts him ahead of 4 of the top 7 guys in the Rings current Jr. Bantam ratings

Donaire previously a 115 fighter before he moved down to 112 to KO Darchinyan who in turn KO'ed Mijares... I think Donaire can fight from 112 to 118 right now if he wish to...

No kidding, David Haye fought at cruiser but we don't rate him there anymore do we?
I agree Donaire can fight at those weights but I would rate him in those weights until he defeats a rated fighter at those weights, the Darchinyan fight was at 112 & he's never defeated a rated fighter at 118 so I don't considered anything more than a flyweight at this time, especially when I feel Martinez is gonna put another L on his record at 112

I brought up Donaire's name since there were clamor of a Donaire vs. Mijares fight before Mijares was eventually KO'ed cold by Darchinyan...

That's the reason he avoided Jun many times. I wonder if Nonito wants to fight him.

I remember & I still wouldn't mind seeing that fight! Maybe if Donaire is upset by Martinez then he could move back up to 115 to make the fight.
But for now Donaire is a flyweight & theres still work to be done there before contemplating a move up imo. Fights with Narvaez, Kaovichit or Kameda would all be competative & work towards increasing Donaire's legacy!

Mijares-Cermeño is at 118, why would Mijares go back down to 115? Because he has no power and it's more of a liability at higher weights?
.

Probably! But he may have been testing the waters at 118 much like Hatton did at 147. As I said before I still consider him one of the best guys at 115 so that is an excellent reason to return to that weight. He may have still been a little gun shy after the Darchinyan loss, he should have taken a tomato can to get his cinfidence back, credit to him for facing an undefeated fighter in his 1st fight back & his 1st fight at a new weight!
