Is this for real, Sergio Mora is fighting Kelly Pavlik?

I dont think there is much of a chance of Mora KO'ing Pavlik, but if Mora moves alot and decides to play the hit and run game it could be an ugly fight......I can see Pavlik having a hard time finding Mora with his punches.

How so? Has anyone ever had trouble finding Sergio Mora? Manfredo and him went toe to toe, Jesse Brinkley caught him with some heavy shots in their fight, that kid on the Contender who tragically committed suicide, he fought a war with Sergio. Vernon was cacthing him repeatedly in their second fight.

Mora has skills and speed but at his heart he's a warrior who loves to brawl. Pavlik will tee off on him imo and although I think he will put on a brave performance I think he'll get badly beaten, cut and probably rescued by the referee around the 7th or 8th round, probably on cuts.

But this won't at all be like Taylor Spinks imo, Pavlik won't be waiting for him to get off his shots he'll just walk him down and bully him into submission.

I honestly think it's an impossible fight for Mora to win the styles are just so wrong. He has nothing to keep Pavlik off him, he can't hurt Pavlik, he cuts easily and isn't exactly the most durable looking guy. I think he gets dominated sadly.

I'd like to be wrong though, I've always liked Sergio. I think he would be better off at junior middle though.

Mora is a bonafied MW who stepped down to fight at lmw, he had no intention on staying there....Mora would have fought for the MW title when Tayolr was champ if not for polotics

Mora is no Hopkins and will get knocked out in the later rounds by Pavlik. Hopefully Pavlik will step it up a notch after this and fight either the winner of Williams vs Wright or Sturm and Abraham. I still think he has alot of talent and had a really bad night against the legendary Hopkins. I hope Antonio Margacheato will be shown on the card also.

When this happens, I will bow in awe of Booze's ability to read the future.

I think it is apparent Mora cant stand and trade with pavlik and win, but if he is smart and studies the Hopikins fight i think he has the quickness, elusiveness and counter punching ability to at least give Kelly some problems (Mora doesnt have the skill or power of hopkins so Sergio wont be able to blow Kelly out of the water). The question is whether he can stay elusive for the entire fight (this wont be easy)....

I still think Kelly will win the fight, just might be ugly and closer on cards than you would think.

I've just seen it many times where you have a slick fighter that seems overmatched but the slick fighter chooses to be elusive and doesnt engage the fight turns into an ugly snoozefest that is hard to score.

He sure as hell has a better shot than Rubio did. Mora can box but has feathers in his fists.

there are better ways to get your point across then that

Pavlik will have problems early in the fight, but later on Pavlik will start to impose his will on Mora. Also, Pavlik has Jack Loew on his side that will make adjustments telling Pavlik to double and triple jab.

pavlik hasn't really been the ghost much either.

I think Pavlik is the type of fighter who would wait for a fighter to get off and then throw back,and try to overwhelm what they did before.

The problem was in the Hopkins fight when Hopkins got off afterwards he was nowhere to be found for Kelly's response. Keepign Pavlik's feet moving seems to be the key to victory because he needs to be still before he throws, he looks like the type of fighter whom when he can plant his feet is at his most offensive.

Mora can win this fight on the inside. Pavlik's power comes from his range and his long right hand. Sergio can have a lot of success if he smothers Pavlik and uses his speed and combinations. As long as he doesn't let Pavlik dictate the distance and circles away from his right he should do better then people expect him to. But Sergio loves to brawl like you said, he doesn't have the power for the style his heart makes him fight. I have a lot of respect for him for this, but he needs to fight smart in this fight and can't afford many mistakes. Pavlik can afford to make all the mistakes in the book and still win because he has the power. Sergio can't take breaks to talk trash he needs to be all business. Probably should hire Nazim Richardson too

Mora can make him look bad, if he wanted someone easy to bounce back against he should have picked another 154 pounder. Mora's made most of his career at middleweight so he can't be put in that category

I agree. Pavlik is a one-trick pony who only shines when he is facing another face-up fighter. That said combined with the chance that if Mora ever realizes that he can't punch I think Mora can make this an interesting night. But if he choses to showboat he's gonna get his head knocked off clean by a right straight from Pavlik
