Re: Fight Night rnd 4 Heavy Weight roster unleashed.
3 was pretty cool, but I actually kind of liked FNR2 better..
I really think they should do something MUCH better with the training.. I know that the fighting is the main aspect of the game and what it's really about.. But if they are going to bother having that section of the game, they have to do something more with it... I think it's good that you actually do play a part in the physical development of your fighter, becuase it would be silly he just gets bigger and fitter, faster just automatically.... So I think it's an essential part of the game and the idea is good. Just it's a bit mundane at the moment.. Hopefully they got together and got people to come up with a BUNCH of good idea's for this aspect and tried out a few and fixed it up..
I'm not sure how, becuase like, a minigame type thing would be a bit tacky..
Another aspect I kind of don't like is when you do the block and the other players arms just dump at their sides and you throw a haymaker at them... I think that needs to be fixed up a little.. And it's actually VERY hard to master doing the block thing on the opponent..
And I think the haymaker is to easy to do and can have to much of an impact.. But then as you get towards the harder fights, you have to rely on it almost to much, haymaker after haymaker to get your opponent down..
It's a fun game of course, but I think needs some idea's fine tuned a fair bit..
HOWEVER, someone mentioned and I have to agree, I REALLY like the total punch control.. It's MUCH better than button mashing and kind of the best way of controlling the punches with a PS controller...
Something that could have been good for them to try out is that, if the remote sixaxis thing where you tilt the remote and it responds on the screen, you could have that for leaning in and out from the other fighter.. Not sure how well it would work though, but i'm remembering back to playing FN (havn't played in over a year or 2), the leaning was pretty stiff as well...
Anyway, as long as they continue to improve on the gameplay like games of other genre's do, then we only have more and more to look forward to every time a new game comes out... And as long as boxing stays popular and they keep making them, it's all good... :)
OH, just remember to say, this is in the wrong section, but it's good to have a fight night thread so we can discuss all our views on it out in public...

Lol, yeah Country Boy posted up the same list in the Fight Night board a week ago. Like I said there hopefully EA will enable downloadable content (ie other fighters) as we're likely gonna be lasting on this for at least 2 more years, more likely 3 or 4.
