well floyd knows boxing so im sure he had at the very least doubts about hatton winning, but what was he gonna do refuse to train him and lose out of that money ??

This is exactly what happens to fighters who struggle to make weight. The fluid that surrounds their brain gets reduced and their brain will get rattled around more.
Ricky has been getting more and more chinny in the latter part of his career. I was surprised when Floyd knocked him out, when Collazo and Lazcano had him wobbling about also. He walked through shots to get close and without that punch resistance......well thats a huge part of his game that's no longer effective.
