Re: Floyd Sr. talking about Ricky Hatton and more...
Exactly. Where is his class?
I'll take the loss, I'll accept that Ricky could of had Angelo Dundee, Cus D'Amato and Brendan Ingle in his corner and the outcome probably wouldn't of been any different...but I won't accept that Snr walks away from this with his hands clean.

Yep, totally agree with that. Mayweather acted way out of line in how he approached camp. Meanwhile, Hatton went out and fought like a plonker. It was a very unhealthy approach and the price was paid.

Precisely...
Looked like Team Hatton had a bad camp and Sr. should be made accountable for that... As the head trainer, it's his total responsibility to properly prepare Ricky for the fight not only physically but also mentally...
"Same move everytime... Right hook, roll under"...

Yes he would - for laying out the plan to beat him but he isn't in the ring with Hatton, it's up to Hatton to do as he's been told/trained to do.
If Hatton wasn't happy with him in camp or as head trainer then he should have sacked him. He wouldn't be the first or the last trainer to be ditched.
As for the Gatti comment.....I think Gatti has/had a better chin than Hatton :-X
Re: Floyd Sr. talking about Ricky Hatton and more...
Again, fair point...but for Floyd to absolve responsibility, particularly when it's alleged he's central to the disruption, is unacceptable.

If he doesn't think he's done any wrong he's hardly going to say that he is.

not necessarily.
If he 100% is sitting there thinking Ricky is a tool because he didn't do what I said then he won't be in denial. If he's thinking there's more he could of done but doesn't want any flack his way then maybe he is.
He does't seem lacking in the confidence stakes.
Some people just don't believe they are wrong about anything ever. I've met a few. They're annoying.;D
Re: Floyd Sr. talking about Ricky Hatton and more...
Anyone that talks themselves up to that degree is clearly insecure.
He loathes the fact that Roger trains Jnr. He's always trying to get in on the act. It's embarrasing.
Re: Floyd Sr. talking about Ricky Hatton and more...
Bottom line Rocky wasn't good enough. He was given a shot at beatin Pacman because there were doubts about how Pac's power would carry, NOT becuase people believed he was anywhere near Pac p4p. Anyway, Pac's power carried and the rest is history. However Floyd must take some flak as he called the fight so wrong pre fight and thus his expertise must be called into question.

Here's what I see that is in the public's eye.
Floyd claims that he is a greatest trainer and can give you the skills and mind set to be a great "skilled" fighter. "If I was training Oscar, he would have beat Pacquiao" That is what Ricky though he was buying. Hatton never had a complete trainer in Floyd Sr. Floyd Sr. is apathetic toward Hatton. Isn't part of a trainer's job to have concern over his pupil? His only interest was a paycheck. The result was a very poor performance by both the Fighter and Trainer.
Had Ricky won, like in the Malignaggi fight, Floyd Sr. would have been there to bask in the win. Ricky lost, Floyd was gone. Nothing to bask in? Any concerned human being would have made sure Ricky was ok. The question, did he even ask if Ricky was ok? Floyd Sr. is so screwed up he doesn't even think he did anything wrong.

Ricky's been in the game long enough to know what to do before a fight. To say Floyd's actions had anything to do with Hatton getting knocked the fukk out even in the slightest is stupid. Why are they even brought up?

not the primary reason no
but small things can all add up and it was quite clear on the night ricky was not in the right frame of mind
Re: Floyd Sr. talking about Ricky Hatton and more...
Floyd Sr. after round 1: Keep your hands up and move your head like we worked on in training.
Round 2: Ricky keeps his head stationary and his hands down.
If Ricky followed the gameplan and won convincingly of course Floyd would take the credit why wouldn't he?
The fact of the matter is Floyd layed out a gameplan and Ricky DECIDED not to follow it, can't blame the trainer for that.
And of course he's in it for the money it's his job.

Majority of boxing people expected Ricky to lose (not on this forum tho) but not that quick, that easy and that brutal... Floyd Sr. mentality towards the fight reinforced Ricky's mentality that he's bigger and stronger than PAC and will overpower PAC towards a victory... Sr. failed to really instill in Ricky's mind that PAC is a very dangerous midget...
