PacMan has been into many wars himself....how come nobody's asking when it will catch up with him....
Did you see Pac's last fight? lol
Because he isn't showing any signs of it catching up with him.

Yep, Pac hasn't been tagged hard in 3 fights since Marquez and even that was more a tactical game of chess than any war.
There is no real sign of wear and tear on Pac at the moment. Personally, I think people are being too harsh on Cotto's performance. I recall Pac having a hard time because of a head butt against Morales a long time ago. Cuts can be detrimental to a fighters performance and this was just another instance. Cotto being done at 28 seems far fetched to me.

In the opinion of many people, PAC is even improving in each and every fight... That's some SCARY news to future PAC opponents...;)

Don't be so set on the age. Age can be deceiving. David Reid and Fernando Vargas were shot at younger ages than that. Its like comparing two 2005 Cadillacs, one with 50,000 miles and one with 150,000 miles. Same year different mileage. No longer the same car. And Cotto has a lot of mileage. He fought a string of punchers coming up and now he has been in rough wars with the elite fighters. Its evident he is not the same fighter and if I was on his team I would have him take the rest of the year off. Mosley, Pac, or PBF would do bad things to him at this point. PWill would finish his career. Cotto needs a break.

I think this is a fair question.
Cotto had a tough fight with Corley, an all-out WAR with Ricardo Torres, then the tough fights with Judah, Mosley, Margarito, and now Clottey. He also had some very physical fights on his way up against guys like Ndou and Abdullaev.
You can only go to the well so many times.
Re: When will the war catch up with Cotto?
Wow. I didnt know Cotto is only 28.
Re: When will the war catch up with Cotto?
Pacquaio would find it hard to look good against Clottey too, you guys are making too much of one fight.
Now whether all the wars will catch up to him is another question. He didn't look past it to me.
Re: When will the war catch up with Cotto?
Admit it...he is just not the same Cotto
Re: When will the war catch up with Cotto?
Very true. He's not the same Cotto, but IMO he has 3 good fights left that he can still win.
I think he beats Pacquiao at 147 with his jab, size and power. Pac is on fire and I give him a good chance of beating Cotto, but I don't feel he can execute the pressure style fight needed to beat Cotto. I believe this match up of styles will end in pac getting KO'd or stopped.
Re: When will the war catch up with Cotto?
Basing on Cotto's last few fights, he tends to slow down in most rounds and give his opponent a break. He back pedals for some reason. He also did that against the soft puncher Malinaggi. Did you guys notice that too? I dont think that will be a good idea against Pac.
Re: When will the war catch up with Cotto?
He clearly takes rounds off. He needs to seriously consider getting elite trainers for his fight against Pac - if it happens.
I say he trys to get Ronnie Shields and Mackie Shilstone to work with him. This will help take him up a level.
The war has caught up with Cotto but he can adopt veteran style techniques that will allow him to win a few more big money fights. He definitely has the will.

Going for an elite trainer for his fight against PAC might help but don't rely too much about it... Remember Hatton having the "best trainer" in the world for his PAC fight in the person of Floyd Sr., did it help? It even contributed to Hatton's downfall on the canvass...

Re: When will the war catch up with Cotto?
I don't think the fight with Clottey was a good one to gauge a question of Cotto's ring mileage on. He definitely took on some mileage during the fight, but I believe the effects of the nasty cut preclude an accurate assessment of his current skills.
