How do you know I'm not a neurologist?

I looked at med sites.. but i've learned that if you need real advice or opinions, you ask someone who's personally experienced in the matter. I didn't come here for advice on domestic violence, i came here to find out about blows to the head. I wanted to make sure that my posting wasn't ignored, which usually happens when someone who doesn't belong posts. I simply googled boxing forums and when I clicked into this site it said ask the trainer. It's much less embarrassing to talk to ask someone in a site thats been punched in the head about whether or not my symptoms are worrisome or will most likely go away than go to the doc explain everything, deal with all the questions, and possibly the police because of a domestic issue, and then find out there's nothing wrong with me at all. Thank you to everyone who's been so helpful.
The type of site I was more referring to, besides a medical only site, and hoping you'd visit is one that deals with domestic violence.
As far as brain trauma goes : Traumatic brain injury - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Here is a list of symptoms to look out for. Not enough boxers are aware of them, or their trainers for that matter, but should be.
Mild TBI
-headache
-mental confusion
-lightheadedness
-dizziness
-double vision, blurred vision, or tired eyes
-ringing in the ears
-bad or metallic taste in the mouth
-fatigue or lethargy
-a change in sleep patterns
-behavioral, personality or mood changes
-trouble with memory, concentration, or calculation
-decreased coordination
-symptoms may remain the same or get better; worsening symptoms indicate a more severe injury
Moderate or Severe TBI
-loss of consciousness
-personality change
-a severe, persistent, or worsening headache
-repeated vomiting or nausea
-seizures
-inability to awaken
-dilation (widening) of one or both pupils
-slurred speech
-weakness or numbness in the extremities
-loss of coordination
-increased confusion, restlessness, or agitation
-abnormal posturing, ie. decorticate or decerebrate posturing
-vomiting and neurological deficit (e.g. weakness in a limb) together are important indicators of prognosis and their presence may warrant early CT scanning and neurosurgical intervention.
Good luck.
I have to ask if this is for real or not, your actions and logic seem extremely shakey and erratic.
It's not really my place to tell you how to live yourlife but why wouldn't you want to deal with the police?
Kicked in the back of the head 5 times by somebody who made wedding vows to you?!?!?
if you wanted to protect this person than just don't press charges, if he has problems but you still love and care for him and still want the relationship then seek counciling and support for both of you.
Letting it continue is going to do nothing but destroy you. I'm of course making assumptions that this isn't the first time that it has happened, but I can't think of any realisically plausable thing you could of done wrong wrong to provoke that response from a mentally stable and health person... least of all somebody who is supposed to have loved you to mary you.
There's no way to justify it, no human deserves it and nobody who truely loves could do that to somebody, nobody should stay with that despite what you may be feeling.
Think that youngblood has pretty much said anything that you would want to know if you chose to take the foolish root though.
Everyone should get off their high horse if they aren't going to offer help. And not everyone responds to help after being torn down so the comments are likely doing no good. We aren't in her situation, she asked for help we should leave it at that. True there are probably better places to seek help but come on leave the dogs at home, anyone who boxes here or has ever boxed has most likely had their bell rung behind the ear or in the back of the head at least once. I'm sure that's what she figured.
Anyways, I would talk to a doctor like those said. You could just lie about who it was, a doctor should be more interested in offering help then looking to prosecute someone. I would definitely consult a doctor.
People often look for help in unlikely places.
I still find it unlikely.
What if her fella is a boxing fan or checks her browsing history.....
In my book 'help' would be trying to reason with somebody that being around somebody who is capable of kicking their head 5 times like a football is pretty unacceptable... I don't think encouraging the situation to be maintained likely counts as help. however futile I think it might be trying I'm still not going to say nothing.
It surely doesn't take a particularly high horse to be in a position to say that does it?
I'm going to have to lock this, like I said Youngblood has said everything that needs to be said and this board isn't really intended to discuss domestic abuse.
I will offer one piece of 'help' though, if this is genuine then it's probably not too good an idea to make a written document of what has happened... your 'man' could possibly check your browsing history and find this, also if you're worried about the police - your modem has an IP address on it so this message could be traced back to you.
Next time just tell the doctor you got mugged or something? Unless a repeat visit to the Dr's would have social services coming to the door and hauling this bum off?
