Re: Carl Froch - Andre Dirrell
Froch should have more than enough in his armour to see off dirrell and i expect a comfortable points decision. Ive seen 4-5 dirrell fights so far and am not buying him for 1 minute. He`s the weakest of the 6 and fighting the 2nd best of the 6.
The same people on here that think dirrell will beat froch are the same type that believed lacys journey to britain to fight JC was merely a formality and a way to get him over to the european public.
froch by quite a considerable margin
Re: Carl Froch - Andre Dirrell
...as i wrote in another post. This sadly will be a boring fight. Direll wont engage froch, and froch is too slow to do anything about it. Direll will pot shot the hell out of this man for 12 rounds no matter how loud we boo he'll take an easy decision. Ask curtis stevens, the same thing happened to him when he was a threat to direll.

Are you being serious?? Your comparing a 5ft 7 novice who has never fought a 12 round fight as the same sort of threat as Carl Froch??
Sometimes some of you guys from the States find it hard to take anyone from a non Us Country espacially from the uk imo any credit.
Carl Froch is a world class fighter I hate the bloke personally, but I agree with Hammer in that alot of people think Dirrell will just turn up and beat Froch similar to how the majority though Lacy would to Calzaghe. Froch has been in with world class fighters and has beaton two very good fighters in Taylor and the curretn 175 lb wbc champ Pascal.
I see this fight as 65-35 in favour of Froch and if I had to put my house on it Froch stops him, I just dont get how the majority of people think so little of Froch. The usual bullshit Taylor was 12 seconds from schooling Froch blah blah blah, if you watched the fight again it was far from a schooling and if the fight ended without a ko i had Taylor winning by one round.
Re: Carl Froch - Andre Dirrell
I'm rooting for Taylor. You have to like the guy. He is the most down to earth guy in the sport. If Taylor could get his shit together i would favor him, but he is probably damaged goods now.
If he cannot do it I hope froch takes it.
Re: Carl Froch - Andre Dirrell
I like Dirrell in this one, but major major props to all six guys for even being in this. They have so much to lose, especially the undefeated guys, and could have taken much easier paths. Abraham especially could have taken a much easier route and made some good money fighting reasonable names on his way to a title shot at 168. This will give most of them and probably all of them one or several "L´s" on their record. This is like the old days when the top guys fought all the other top guys. They say that if a fighter has had a lot of fights and is still undefeated, it´s because his opposition has been too weak. Absolutely true and these guys are willing to lay it all on the line. This is the most exciting and praiseworthy thing in boxing in a long while.

Froch is a world class fighter and he has stopped talking about Calzaghe ever since he beat JT, which has made him a lot more likeable. Froch isn't a fraud any longer. He has two wins over opponents who were faster and more experienced. Froch showed he takes boxing seriously and trains hard for every fight. He fights with vigor and heart. I take my hat off to him. No doubt. On the other hand, he is up against a different kind of challenge in Dirrell. As Mars put it, Dirrell could pot shot and win enough rounds to take a comfortable decision on the cards. Keep in mind, however, the fight is in Nottingham and Froch holds the belt. Dirrell must do more than squeeze out a victory; he will have to take it from the champion. He'll need a knockdown or two to win on the cards. And Froch punches with strength - he can bang. Not the strongest puncher of the 6, but probably in the top 3 or top 2, which means we'll probably see Dirrell's chin and body tested. 12 rounds with Froch is a long time - ask JT. And it is not for certain that Dirrell will be content to pot shot and run; he may tire in the championship rounds and be forced to trade with Froch, turning the fight into solid entertainment.
Re: Carl Froch - Andre Dirrell
This is a very tough fight for me to call, my 1st instinct is that Dirrel will be to fast & give Froch fits all night, but Froch is dangerous every minute of the fight & I could see him catching up with Dirrell in the championship rounds
If Dirrell sticks to the plan & boxes & keeps Froch on the end of the stick it may well be a boring but very winnable fight, if there is a weakness that we haven't yet seen in Dirrell; Froch is just the type of fighter to expose it!
My pick: Dirrell on pts

Yup if Taylor made the bell in the last round, it would've been a 10-7 round and the fight could arguably have been a draw imp
Re: Carl Froch - Andre Dirrell
pfft, I've been guilty of underrating Froch but Dirrell can be underrated too, he's without a doubt the most explosive athlete in the whole thing, he's insanely fast, can punch, and is pretty skilled. I just worry about his mentality and his chin.
Re: Carl Froch - Andre Dirrell
Awful lot of faith in a complete novice to beat a seasoned unbeaten pro who is now a world champion
I just dont get it with you americans. Khan beats the hell out of barrera and kotelnik and you still perceive the man to be a fraud. Ortiz on the other hand gets his arse handed to him by a guy nobody has ever heard of and your all still claiming the guy has what it takes to be a world champion.
As ive mentioned in the past froch just like calzaghe is extremely good at adapting to different situations and us brits though being in the same continent fight nothing like the orthodox one dimensional european convention of fighting.
If carl has to stand and trade with the man he`ll do so. If he has to get on his bike and pick his counters he`ll do so. Whichever happens froch will take a COMFORTABLE points decision and you guys can go back to hating him once again.
Re: Carl Froch - Andre Dirrell
LOL, yay blanket statements and generalizations, a lot of people think Ortiz has serious heart issues, hell there have even been questions of whether he wants to fight anymore.
I like Khan but its hard to get a one round demolition out of people's heads. Fighting a puncher would help.
And good luck if Carl "gets on his bike."

They're just about my exact thoughts on this fight.
Watching a few Dirrell fights recently he looks very impressive to me. I can't believe he's the 14/1 outsider in this thing.
His speed is going to give Froch murders. If Dirrell has the bottle for it he'll win. But equally it wont be a surprise if Froch drags him into the deep end and drowns him.

no doubt in my mind dirrell will look to be the aggressor from the word go and will have froch on the ropes on more than a few occasions.
But we`ve seen in the past how carl enjoys those types of slug fests as he is extremely good at not allowing himself to become to inveloped in what the other guy is doing and froch will no doubt pick away at dirrell every time he lunges in.
If the judges go on dirrells sheer athletisism alone it`ll be a tough call, if however it comes down to who landed the better shots and asserted themselves better froch will win hands down

Hmmm, why do you think he'll come out trying to come forward and back Froch up?
Andre Dirrell right?
He comes out pretty much every time moving and trying to box. He pretty much never comes out the aggressor trying to back his man up.
Against Victor Oganov he came out boxing and moving http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooMdGA1UimY
Against Anthony Hanshaw he came out boxing and moving http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYLcZ...eature=related
Against Derrick Findlay he came out boxing and moving http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlW-n...eature=related
Against Curtis Stevens he ran the whole fight.
He may throw a lot of punches but he doesn't come out the aggressor coming forward trying to back his man up. Froch is the obvious pressure guy here.
Re: Carl Froch - Andre Dirrell
Nice one Ouma, I hadn't seen much of Dirrel (that's why I haven't made any predictions ;))
Fantastic movement, nice switch hitting style, hangs his chin out a bit though - will have a closer look at some more of his fights!
