Re: Most innapropriate nick names for fighters
There is a british boxer called Anthony Small. Anyway this guy calls himself "Sugar Ray Clay Jones Junior". So 4 all time greats in that name and though not bad he certainly has not and never will live upto any of these fighters.

Michael "Second to" Nunn. More of a play on words than an actual nickname.
Humberto "La Chiquita" Gonzalez. FYI, Chiquita translates into little girl. :rotflmao:
Andre "The All Terrain Fighter" Ward.
Owen "What the Heck" Beck.
Steve "Two Pound" Forbes.
I had a boxing trainer, Joe Byrd, the father of Chris Bryd, whose name was "Toy Block" The newspapers gave him that name, although I never figured that one out.
Im pretty sure Chiquita means "little one ".

Agreed, the quiet man won't ever shut the **** up and stop complaining. I always thought he was called the quiet man because his Lawyer/legal team was the one that did all the talking and getting the rematches .. injunctions etc.
Then again he looked pretty quiet near the end of this video.

Re: Most innapropriate nick names for fighters
Scott Pemberton always makes me laugh... His alias doesn't mean what you think it would.
"The Sandman"... You figure it's cuz he puts people to sleep? You'd be wrong. This douche got his name cuz of how sandy he'd get riding his dirt bike ;D
Re: Most innapropriate nick names for fighters
How about Hector "macho" Camacho.
His tacktics was just a case of run hit run, then hold if the other guy got close.

Stacy "Goodnight" Goodson ;D;D;D;D;D;D:owned:

in his defense he was a lot more aggressive before the Rosario fight, after that beating he took in the later rounds he became a bit more defensive, and well finally got a bit more aggressive and took his beating like a warrior against Chavez
Re: Most innapropriate nick names for fighters
Herol "Bomber" Graham couldn't be further from the truth. Mind you though that was a smart trick, because in his early career. It used to fool opponents into thinking he was a banger. Then when they get in the ring they were completely thrown off.

Sorry but Carl Williams sucked ? are you kidding me ? he arguably beat Larry Holmes when they met, he had Tommy Morrison down 3 times wasn't it ? and he beat the crap out of Bert Cooper, he was a very good skilled fighter.
He had a fanastic jab. Good boxing skills and all the attributes to be a top Heavyweight. Unfortunately his chin was made out of china, which stopped him from being up there with the big boys. But apart from that he appeared to have it all.

Valid points
Re: Most innapropriate nick names for fighters
I always thought Ricky Hatton's "Hitman" nickname was all wrong. Thomas Hearns defined what a hitman should be; calm, cat-like reflexes, like a preying-Mantis and then Ricky comes out with his slugging style and got it all wrong.
Hector Camacho spent almost all of his career south of the Rosario right hand distancing himself from his Macho Man nickname.
Re: Most innapropriate nick names for fighters
How about Oscar "La Mula" Fucks. He fights out of Argentina and is 7-8. Check it out on Google.
