Re: How Would Tommy Morrison do Today in the Current Heavyweight Division
I give his left hook a shot against any heavy in history on his best night,he also had some good handspeed.I could see him right in the mix at the top today but do think his stamina probs would catch up.His defense was leaky and he was dropped many times, but off the top...he was never kept on the canvas?Morrison had lapses and could be outboxed but dude had a big ticker, would bank on that power no probs.I dont think he could get past Wlads stick.Give me a Morrison vs Arreola :shinner:.Short, sweet and brutal.

Tommy would be a top five contender pretty easily but there would be interesting fights for him: Chagaev, Brewster, Sultan, Arreola, Chambers, and dare I say David Haye
I also wonder how these guys would do today (if they were in their primes of course):
Frank Bruno
Michael Moorer
Donovan Ruddock
Shannon Briggs
And I wonder how Joe Mesi would have done had he not gotten injured
interesting point on some of the other names mentioned. I think Morrison could have held his own but I went off him a bit when I heard some of the rascist things attributed to him (maybe they weren't true)
I would have liked to see big Frank around these days. plenty of other plodders in the mix today so I think with his power he could have done reasonably well.
Re: How Would Tommy Morrison do Today in the Current Heavyweight Division
I think Tommy would've beaten all except the 2 Klits. And he could quite possible of KOed Wlad

Are you talking about that magazine? The Interviewer was a nobody an tried to make his name off of that bogus interview. BTW, Morrison handed Leon Spinks 500.00 Cash at one of the BHOF Events,,,,,,Does that sound like a Racist? I talk to the Guy all the Time. He is far from Racist.

Also what those 2 fighters had in common, was that they both had very good jabs like Wladimir Klitschko.
And people say well if he would of got on the inside, but remember Tommy Morrison's chin isn't much better than Wladimir Klitschkos. So would he be able to get inside quick enough ?
Except for the obvious bad style match ups against, the Klitschko brothers. I would make him favorite against all the other Heavyweight's. Remember Tommy Morrison wasn't just a come forward banger, he had some boxing skills remember he gave George Foreman a boxing lesson, while constantly moving backwards.
I'd go with that, Haye-Morrison would be interesting and so would any of the 'top' heavies bar the brothers. Too big for him.
Although he could probably cherry pick an alphabet title, I don't see him performing well against the Klitchkos.
Re: How Would Tommy Morrison do Today in the Current Heavyweight Division
Morrison would get slaughtered by either Klitschko. They'd do to him worse than what Lennox did to him
Re: How Would Tommy Morrison do Today in the Current Heavyweight Division
I would put him at 5. Klitschko's would beat him and I think Arreola would give him quite a bit of trouble and probably beat him. Hell if Michael Bentt came out Blitzed him and stopped him. What are the chances Arreola couldn't do the same.Someone I believe said he'd beat Johnson easily. I would take Johnson strictly do to his jab. Morrison has great head movement, and can slip alot of good punches but he just always seemed to be tagged with a jabbed rather easily. After that I would have him comfortably at 5.
