Re: Bradley - Campbell decision overturned
Mate i've seen the fight and i'm saying this to all the fight before and the fights to come. There are so many fights the same as this and the decision stands after the fight ended and the decision was handed. Though the Commision decision was right, we should not always be looking at the replay and see the ref made a bad call.

What will you do if the fight was stopped prematurely by a ref bec. he sensed the boxer will be hurt and that boxer filed for a reversal of decision siting he is fit to continue but was not given the opportuniy to do so?
_____
That is in no way relevant to this discussion really. If a fighter protested a stoppage, it would have to be an incredibly obviously fraudulent move by the ref for the commission to even consider it and if that was the case I would hope that they did look into it. The two situations are in no way related other than that they both pertain to boxing.

Mate i got your point that this is an exceptional case and my concern is not related to this fight but i'm talking in general.
What should we do to the ref then who failed to see the real situation? Hey it's not your your fault that we reversed the decision because you get it wrong.
I agree with the Commission on this one but not on general fight that lasted the whole 12 rounds.

But the two situations cannot really be compared. They're completely dissimilar.

Good stuff anyhow but Campbell did milk it like Spicoli said
Barrera said to the doctor he was ok. That was in round 4, the last round it could be judged a no contest. If he would have put his parts on like Campbell, it would have been a no contest.
Because of that they could not have reversed the decision. Shows that it sometimes pays to wine like a pussy.

Barerra/Khan fight went past 4 rounds. The Bradley/Campbell fight went 3 rounds. The rules are that the fight is judged by the scorecards if the fight goes through 4 rounds. If a cut stops a fighter from continuing and its before 4 rounds completes then it depends if it was a headbutt or punch. By headbutt it is a no contest. By punch it is a TKO. After 4 rounds it doesn't matter if a headbutt or a punched caused the cut. If the fighter can not continue it goes to the cards.

Football, basketball, and boxing are not the same sports. So therefore the rules must be different. But in football and basketball calls are commonly reversed due to instant replay. That is what happened here. There are no judges in football or basketball so that plays no similarity. In this fight the judges weren't even relevant. The rules are very clear. If the fight is stopped due to a cut caused by a headbutt before the 4th round completes then the fight is a no contest. That is exactly what took place and the replay backed it up with absolutely no doubt. Your analogy of a fighter being waved off by the referee's discretion has never and never will take place in an appeal. To win an appeal you must display absolute facts that have zero doubts. If you watch the Bradley/Campbell fight, knowing the rules, then this is not even an argument
Re: Bradley - Campbell decision overturned
Spade, rules are rules.
The fight should of and thankfully was ruled a No-Contest.
IMO, Campell shouldn't be get the chance at a rematch. Bradley should just move on with his career.

Yawn:rolleyes: make no difference what he says. The cut was as bad in the first as it was in the 5th.

Still bugs me too....
Campbell was having a tough time and it was nothing on the Barrera cut really, but a NC is clearly what the result shoud be.
Campbell looks done at the top to me all in all.

Yup further insult to Barrera. Rahman and Campbell get their losses overturned but no such luck for Marco.
The only vindication for me would be to see Khan get brutally knocked out again. I cant wait !

Im just explaining the facts. If the cut was bad enough to stop the fight then it was the doctors fault, not Khans.
