You do realize that logic cannot penetrate hattonthehammer's cloak of insanity, right?

My point is that its not even relevent that its a tornamernt. Audley fought 3 guys fars below his level and experience. Reguardess of anything else going on in his life, he should have beat them. Both on paper and in the ring. I give him some credit but not for winning so much as moving foward with his career. Now as for Danny Williams, its over. He needs to retire.
I simply disagree here.
If the fights were over 12 rounds then absolutely you'd expect the class of a better fighter to shine through. But these were just 3 round fights, meaning one mistake and you may not have time to recover.
Imagine a soccer knockout cup where the time was only 12 minutes each half. Even teams like Man Utd and Chelsea might struggle to break down and win against struggling minnows like Norwich, Grimsby and Plymouth Argyle because they don't have enough time for their superior skill and class to show.
A freak early goal by the unfavoured side would very likely be enough to win the match and in such circumstances it would be a tough competition for the stronger teams the greatly reduced time levelling the playing field.
That's the position Audley was in, a 12 round fighter fighting guys in 3 rounds. Sure he's supposed to be better but there have been many many fights in history where the better fighter has not been better over the first 3 rounds, Floyd would have lost to Zab Judah for example.
To not only beat 3 guys in one night, and ko'ing two, but to do that in less than 7 total rounds of boxing was a good achievement.
Audley did well last night, he could have made a fool of himself like Danny Williams did but he didn't, he beat everyone convincingly and won the whole thing.
I agree with you there Bilbo that adjusting to 3 rounds can be tough to do andyour right, Audley did and deserves some credit, but this tournment doesnt prove a whole lot and him winning is no surprise at all. Maybe that Audley was better suited for the amateurs, but we already knew that.
I think some people are getting carried away here, Harrison couldnt even beg his way onto the Hayemaker bill in Liverpool when the main event was Dobson and Quiqley, no one really cares about Harrison he just beat a bunch of stiffs who are worst than average.
To me it was the same old Harrison who will loose when he fights a game half experienced fighter I think Fury would outwork him pretty easily and I think Fury is shite.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he's finally become a world beater, or even a Marty Rogan beater, but he did all that was asked of him last night and won every fight emphatically.
Hopefully it will give him the confidence shot in the arm that he needed and he can go on from here.
Haye aside he's the ONLY British heavyweight who shows any promise at all and I'd like to see him get a chance to take on the likes of Sexton and Fury.
If he puts it all together he can establish himself as top of the domestic pile and then maybe Eddie Hearn can get him a shot at a fringe world title.
I really wouldn't rule out a Haye vs Audley match, and as I think David Haye is also vastly overated I wouldn't totally count Audley out.
I'd love him to do it though, the man is a legend in my eyes, hated by everyone and written off years ago he continues to dream his delusional dreams.
Winning Prizefighter is hardly a springboard for a world title shot but it got Rogan fights with Audley and Skelton and had he beat Sexton you can be sure they would have sought to push him onto higher things.
I thought America had all the crap heavyweights, Prizefighter has proved me wrong. :p
Don't let my sarcasm shadow the fact that i enjoyed PRIZEFIGHTER , but come on this proves nothing , we all know Audley isn't world class , hes lazy and doesn't carry a huge punch at top level. But 1 thing was made more obvious than before , he just one of those fighters who doesn't like taking any punches , he looks so fragile to me.
Good posts Bilbo.
Opinions on Audley wont change but all he can do is keep on taking fighters out. He fought 2 unbeaten fighters and one guy who was younger and bigger than him. He put em all on their ass one after the other. If any other fighter did that they'd get some recognition but not Audley.
Id love to know when harrison has ever had heart. Thats the one thing he never had. The guy wants all the trappings of celebritydom through boxing without actually having to fight. Hes the most deluded fighter iv ever seen. Hes not in love with the game the way a good fighter has to be to win when the chips are down. Christ, he cant even do it against guys who are practically semi-pro. Im not a big fan of Haye but i'll bet that if they ever met, Haye would knock Harrison spark out.
I just finished watching now. I watched the Williams fight and the Fraudley fights. In the final he was getting beaten easily by a 15 stone novice pro till he stopped him. He's still shyte. Hopefully the BBBC declare the British title vacant and put Audley in with the Rogan-Sexton loser. I only want to watch Fraudley again to see him get sparked.
awdley was getting his ass whipped before he came up with the knock out. Good thing the other guy had a glass jaw. I'd like to see awdley in against David Tua. I think awdley would drop like a sack of potatoes, out of fear, even if tua missed with his first punch.
If anyone lost the first round yet scored a second round knockout then people would be saying how great they were. Yet he loses the first round and you say he was being schooled?
I guess we could say Shane Cameron was schooling Tua too before he got hit? Quintana was also schooling Paul Williams for a minute I guess? This is boxing. You don't win the fight in one round just because its a 10-9. Are you guys really gonna stick so much fault in losing the first round just cause you dislike a fighter? If any other big name fighter like Oscar or Pacquiao or Cotto lost the first round to someone then scored a 2nd round knockout you'd be talking about how devastating they are. Not how they were losing the first 3 minutes. Thats kind of silly isnt it?
the only problem is, audley knew it was a 3 round fight and yet he still froze when pressure was put on, to be fair he won and that is that.. there can be no more excuses now for him..
he needs to be fighting a top 10 HW within a year...
