manny pacquiao is your classic example of a knockout puncher
The guy fights in bursts and throws bombs. He can be inactive for 2-3rounds at a time but you can never take your eye of the ball because the punches he does throw are so accurate and powerful.
Cotto is the complete opposite. He uses a strategy to wear an opponent down just like hatton
Im gonna reserve my opinion on this till sunday morning. Cottos been on the slide ever since margarito and many are already under the suspiscion mannys about to beat up another shot fighter!
I don't think Pac knocks people out. Apart from Hatton he hasn't done that. Even Morales/Pac 3 was a case of Morales being a man starved of weight admitting that there was just no point getting up. Pacs speed was the problem and not the power.
DLH took a long time before eventually quitting on his bench
Diaz several rounds or so too before the end
Marquez, just wasn't staying down
Barrera no knockdowns in sight second time out
I don't think Pac is a knockout artist, it's his speed more than anything that just surprises people. Hatton was just so off his game that it made Manny look like a power punching monster.
the bigger the weight the better chance of a ko
the 2 fights manny has had in the lower middle weights he has mantained his speed yet pushed his power up 2-3notches!

cotto isnt a knockout puncher, pacquiao is
Cotto-hatton would go 12
Cotto would stop Hatton in 4-5 rounds he is past his best now,his chin is certainly not what it was a few years back and Hatton has been hurt to the body a few times even when he was in his prime.Cotto would hurt him to the head and body!
Re: Hatton wants Cotto if he beats Pac
Do a Khan fight and retire, nothing at world level for Ricky. I am pissed off with this P4P talk, he probably thinks Cotto goes P4P no.1 if he beats Manny then once again Hatton will say he is fighting for the P4P title again, say he won't let us down this time and proceed to get seven sacks of shit beaten out of him.
Re: Hatton wants Cotto if he beats Pac
"pac told me I hurt him twice"
Come on Ricky... you used to be the guy saying nice things after a bout to people you'd beaten to a pulp... you know how this shit works...
I can't be the only boxer, Amature or pro who has offered some comment to the opponent after a win such as 'good fight, I really felt one of those right hands etc' despite it being untrue just because the beaten look on their face isn't too pretty?
Has he watched the fight or is he really clutching at straws... he got smashed... he might have hit pac 2-3 times but he never hurt pac 2-3 times.
Re: Hatton wants Cotto if he beats Pac
What is everyone saying on here? I think Hatton and Cotto is a nearly even fight right now! Cotto has been beaten once and I have seen nothing from his fights that tell me that he is that good or he is clearly the favorite against Hatton. I'll say it right here! I think Hatton has a 40% chance of beating Jose Miguel Cotto.;D Gotcha :p As for Miguel Cotto, sanctioning Ricky Hatton/Miguel Cotto would be conspiracy to attempted murder.
Re: Hatton wants Cotto if he beats Pac
YAY Ricky Hatton is willing to get KTFO again!!! Can't happen enough.....THERE'S ONLY OOOOOOOONE, fat bastard that has a fanbase made up of nothing but drunk ass soccer hooligans and is extremely overrated!!!!!!

I have noticed over the last months you have seem to become very anti british, you use to be a big Ricky Hatton fan and yes like I said you were one of the many that overrated him.

Exactly. Cotto-Hatton would be a massacre, albeit a quick one.

Aren't you the same guy who cries about being stereotyped all the time?
Re: Hatton wants Cotto if he beats Pac
Well Ricky's lousy ass fans whatever they may be booed the National Anthem and Ricky never said anything about it. Before that I had thought Ricky was a class act, a nice guy, apparently not.
Yes I get stereotyped every now and then...but see when I wrote my previous post, I was being humorous.
Re: Hatton wants Cotto if he beats Pac
Oh god. I wish he would just retire. He's nothing but a glorified Frank Bruno. I'm british and I'm sick to death of our media hyping up our fighters like they're gods. If I see one more Davi Haye interview i'm going to slit my throat. He beat the poorest Heavyweight champn in history in the most boring manner possible. Any Klitschko will ko him in 5. The only thing Hatton has ever done is cheat to beat Kostya and then get humilated against the two world class operaters he's faced. The best Hatton can hope for is a match with Amir Khan
Re: Hatton wants Cotto if he beats Pac
Ricky regained consciousness already?

I think I finally get you. You're playing a game the "guess who I'm really talking about game"
I'm gonna guess you're talking about Juan Urango.
Re: Hatton wants Cotto if he beats Pac
Ricky is chasing dreams. ,If its more money or fame or he wants to keep hisname in the headlines he should talk about comming out here and rematch Kostya for the retired champions belt.
(we'll make one for him, if he comes).
