Re: Chinese delicacy, fried fish, still alive
I could watch that guy dive off the sea wall and split his head open like an orange peel all day long but that fish made me feel sick.

Re: Chinese delicacy, fried fish, still alive
The people laughing as they eat it made me feel sick. Sick fucks.

Re: Chinese delicacy, fried fish, still alive
lol what a bunch of pussies.
It's a fish. It has no clue what is happening to it, or cares for that matter. At our camp in the summer we fish before nightfall and bring the fish back, alive, held in a water well to keep them fresh. Then we fillet them right away, which means cutting the meat off the sides and belly, and throw the fish in the lake to awaiting birds. I've seen it countless times, the remainder of the fish still trying to make its getaway with swimming motions in the water before the seagulls swoop in and finish the deal off. zomg!

Why can't you chop it's head off first? Sicko

Cuz it's not how you fillet a fish. Plus it wouldn't be as funny watching the thing swim off clueless to the fact is has no sides or belly. Only to end up bird food.

Re: Chinese delicacy, fried fish, still alive
Why would you not clump it over the head first? How much freshness can it loose in 30 seconds.

Not at all. It's fairly routine around here and most clean it this way. No biggie. I'm guessing there aren't too many people who fish on the board? We pretty much start as soon as we can walk here. I guess you could smash it over the head if it makes ya feel better, but really, it is any more or less moral sending it still alive that way, but sleeping? lol It has no clue what is going. itza dumb fish!

It might be fairly common round there but so is smashing a pickaxe in to a baby seals face, it doesn't make it right to do so.
It has no clue it can't breath? It's a living thing and you are cutting it's flesh away....it may be dumb and unable to discuss Sarte with me but so is half the board but it that dumb not to be under extreme stress.

So where do you draw the line? Is it right to throw a sharp jagged hook into the water and pull it out of its sustainable environment? (or netted pick your method...but now you are suffocating them at the least ) Have you ever fished? Do you ever eat fish?
It's just a way of cleaning and eating a food. Not done for the shock value. Even tho it is funny. Unless a person is a vegatarian and has zero meat in their diet, they are basically being a hypocrite imo.
It's just not common for most to see a fish moving like that when eating it, but it surely died some sorta death, quick, slow, gruesome, in one way or another to get to your plate.

That's a a fair point, and the only argueble point really. Anyone else is basically just showing squimishness at the original vid because it seems foreign to them. Fish really have no clue what is happening to them, so this negates cruelty to me when it is just a means of bringing it to the table which is an inevitability.
I don't think an arguement can even be made that it was done for entertainment purposes by anyone. (even tho to me it is funny, much like our swimming away half cut up) It's a way of eating it fresh imo. And fresh is tastier, usually healthier.

It's not hypocritical to want to see the thing killed as humanely as possible. Some people wouldn't/don't eat meat unless they know where it's come from and how it's been snuffed out.
It doesn't matter what the animal is, if you are laughing at it's misery I would personally find that weird/wrong (unless it was HTH getting tortured).
