Re: Why I think PBF beats PAC
it's only been what? 4 years?
HAHA!
Very glad to be back, there has been some absolutely fantastic boxing on recently, I think 2010 is going to be amazing. Especially if Pac and Mayweather do fight.

Very true.
Re: Why I think PBF beats PAC
if mayweather jr. decides to pop shot his way to a victory, the fight could become very boxing. but if he decides to engage pacquiao, i believe mayweather will win by KO. mayweather's power is underrated because he chooses not to engage.

Similar story in both fights with Marquez. If it hadn't been for Juan's lapses in concentration and the Mexican addiction to having a brawl Marquez could have done those fights easier. But again Pac had very little answer for a very good back foot counter puncher.
Pac then went on to fight a weight drained corpse by the name of De La Hoya. Oscar couldn't have done a hit and move stratagy even if he'd wanted to.
Ricky Hatton, Ricky had already been Ko'd by Mayweather and has now admited to 'having the worst training camp in his career.' By his own admission Ricky wanted to get the fight over and done with and although he'd left his best work in the gym he still believed that with on big punch he could beat pac. And thats what he went for, he steamed in their to get that one big punch, that style is like a christmas present for Pac.
Miguel Cotto. It was an interesting start. Miguel was seriously hurt/damaged by the half way mark, and this was where he decided to get on his bike. He went on the back foot and moved. Pac got visibly frustrated by this and didn't really know what to do other than chase. Due to the amount of damage sustained and fatigue Cotto ran out of steam and could no longer keep out of the way.
Floyd Mayweather is the best back foot fighting counter puncher on the planet, maybe of all time. He is in amazing condition and doesn't get tired, 12 rounds is nothing to him. Floyd can adapt to anyone, and he can manipulate a fighter to fight his fight. He can frustrate even the most ice cold boxers.
I think Floyd will/would beat Paquioa if they meet, and I think it's possible that he could even make manny look a bit silly in the process.
Not that I'd count pac out, he's got a massive punch, and he is always in great great condition. I think though his style plays in to floyds hands where as floyds style gives pac nightmeres.
My money would be on floyd.
What you fail to understand is that the Pacquiao that fought JMM or Morrales is not the same Pacquiao right now. Pacquiao has changed alot over the course of three fights and the weight gain, so to even mention the Morrales fight is irrelevant IMO.
Re: Why I think PBF beats PAC
I AGREE AS WELL FOR PBF BEATING PAC. IS GONA BE A GOOD FIGHT BOTH VERY DIFFRENT STYLES, BUT I CAN SEE PBF WINNING BY A decision.
Re: Why I think PBF beats PAC
Yes I think Floyd should/Would beat Manny. But will he actually do it?
With the kind of work Manny has put on I think it would not be a "Nuthuggery" to think that he's capable of surprising us yet again and wins by stoppage.
Forum experts are experts only after the fight have happened. Before the fight their predictions are exactly the opposite :D

It's not irrelevant due to the simple fact that Pac still can't deal or adapt when opponants present that style to him. and it showed in the last 6 rounds of the cotto fight when manny was getting frustrated and had no other plan other than chase his man until he got tired. And that was a tired, battered, flat footed Cotto.
Pac has improved and changed, but he's not a different fighter. When fighters go on the back foot hit, move and counter all pac can do is chase and throw. Mayweather loves it when guys do that.
Like I said in my last post, Pacs got more chance of beating Mayweather than anyone else right now, due to his stamina, work rate and punch power. I happen to think though that Pac won't be able to implement a plan B or C if plan A doesn't work.
i can see it being the same old mayweather fight. He'll hit and move for 6 rounds, frustrating and tiring his opponant then he'll become more aggressive from 6 onwards looking for late stopage or UD.

Good points. Pac has been able to outwork his last three opponents...because in all three of those fights he was clearly the faster and fresher fighter. But for all of his incredible physical ability and relentlessness...he fights primarily one way. It has been very effective in recent fights...but against a very smart, highly adaptable fighter like Floyd...you need a plan b and c. Another thing about Manny is...that his come forward, lunging in with flurries...makes him very hittable. People keep saying Floyd can't hurt manny. But Floyd doesn't need to hurt Manny. Floyd can dance for 20+ rounds if he has too. I can see him pot shotting Pac all night. He is deadly precise and extremely slick. He is not going to stand in front of Manny and trade. So Roach knows he has to introduce new wrinkles to Pac's game, because i just don't think it's possible to beat Floyd by pressuring him. In Manny's favor...Floyd has not fought a great, athletic, PRIME fighter in a long time (some may argue he has never fought one). Pac clearly has momentum. The problem is...Floyd is a gym rat just like Manny. I think this fight is going to make Floyd train like a mad man (he already trains as hard as anyone) to prove he is still the pound for pound best. Should be a great fight...but i see Floyd winning.

Re: Why I think PBF beats PAC
haha this guy serious? I give him credit for studying tape, but he is retarded. Why would you compare how Mayweather fights orthodox fighters to how he would face Manny? Its like he's only seen Mayweather-Marquez. Mayweather maintains his own style, but he fight each guy little bit different, just like all great boxers, but he absolutely does not fight southpaws the same way he fights orthodox guys, he is open to different punches and a guy like Floyd knows that. He keeps both hands much higher, he doesnt leap in with the left hook the same way, and he throws his straight right way more.
Re: Why I think PBF beats PAC
If Zab knocked down Floyd, then I don't see Pac inflicting bigger damage on Floyd.
Floyd won't be able to run for 12 rounds. I think he will get caught eventually.
Imo, it's 50/50.

Floyd had difficulty with Zab when Zab was sticking to his gameplan. I don't see an unbeatable Floyd especially against Pac.
Watch out people how Roach would transform Pac into someone who would knock down PBF in the early rounds.
Floyd, like Barrera(first fight against Pac), would be wondering what hit him. Pac's awkward style will be a big factor in this fight.
Floyd can run and try his defense but when he is hit with Pac's left, he will certainly go down and all his defensive skill will be for naught.
Floyd should not underestimate Pac. Barrera underestimated him,DLH underestimated him, Hatton underestimated him, Cotto underestimated him.... and you know what happened.
Floyd can talk about his being a defensive wizard and underestimate Pac coz he still doesn't know how hard Pac hits with his combo.
It is my belief that the two parties had already made an agreement so we can start our bet now.
Fearless prediction:
If Floyd goes on to fight Pac like a true warrior and exchange some punches: Pac by TKO before the 7th round.
If Floyd runs and act like a coward (errrr, in survival mode), Pac by SD.
Re: Why I think PBF beats PAC
BruceLee,
So you don't see Floyd having a single chance whatsoever on winning, right?
