well that's what i had heard, he was supposingly gonna come back in June and fight Cintron at 154 in Yankee Stadium on the eve of the Puerto Rican day parade, i can't stand Cintron, but you know the atmosphere for that fight would be insane
I hope Cotto makes Cintron cry. Cintron is going to be a heavy underdog with the books, but he definitely should not be overlooked. Could be a very good match-up.
Re: Why is Miguel Cotto moving up?
154 is a division with far less depth then 147... Yuri Foreman would be a perfect fight... He has as much pop as my parents cat.
Re: Why is Miguel Cotto moving up?
to get a another titile, he knows hes not gona be able to do more at that weight class, moving up is the best thing he can do ryte now, and i hope he does cause everybody knows hes not gona be able to beat pac or pbf if he beats pac for the title. at 154 he has a better chance of getting another title and prob dominating that division. he still has alot of gas in the tank

he could make a huge comeback if he beats the winner of Mosley/Berto, there is still a marketable fight against Collazo, a rematch with Clottey, so he still has plenty of options at 147, only reason i see him going up to 154 is to try and get another title seeing how he plans to call it a day soon, but i doubt he'll be able to dominate the division, IMO Williams and Martinez would probably beat him, but i could see him getting good wins over Cintron, Foreman, and probably someone like Julio, but don't really think he'd be able to dominate

LMAO!!! That was my first thought when I heard Cintron calling Miguel out.
As much as I would like to see Miguel make Cintron cry, I would rather have Miguel go for a title fight in a 3rd weight division before he hangs them up, so I hope he gets the Foreman fight.
I'm still sooooooooooooo depressed about Miguel hanging them up so soon. :bawling:
Seriously.

Yeh, his options right now aren't looking to good:
-Fight a heavier, stronger Cotto.
-Fight (a possibly) roided-up Pacquaio at some ridiculous catch-weight with other skewed terms.
I'm not sure if I'd like to see Cotto fight Cintron at this point in his career. While I think Cotto could come out with a win, the risk/reward ratio isn't great. Cintron is a dangerous fighter without an enormous fanbase. Foreman would definitely be the easier fight.
