Re: Do you think Pacquiao is a drugs cheat?
I've become a fan of Pacquiao (see: DLH, Hatton) because of his humility, and the new fans he's brought to boxing. (The fact that he humiliated DLH and slaughtered Hatton doesn't hurt, either). BUT... public perception is critical in professional sports, such as boxing. And truthfully, no matter HOW annoying Camp Mayweather is with all their outlandish requests (and I don't like Mayweather's blatant ducking record, either)... the truth of the matter is that the public now perceives Pacquiao as having something to hide. Hey... if you're clean, you shouldn't object to ANY kind of testing. And please don't use the lame excuse that a test tube full of blood taken before the fight is going to drain you and cause you to lose. That's an insult to our intelligence. If you REALLY want to fight PBF and you're clean... accept the damn testing and let's get on with it. But by not accepting it, the public perception - rightly or wrongly - is that Pac is a drug cheat. Such is the truth about public perception.
Re: Do you think Pacquiao is a drugs cheat?
Well , i cant say yes , but if he don't accept to make the test , probably create a doubt and a bad perception in all what he reached , why he wont make the test ? , because if he doesn't have any done with drugs he can demonstrate to the world that theres no suspicious , in this case he can Shot the Mayweather mouth , so IMO is sad to hear this , but now i think he have to make something take out this spot , he is a good boxer and i wont see that this issue convert as the same as Margacheato did :(
Re: Do you think Pacquiao is a drugs cheat?
I'm having my suspicions about Pac-man right now. But I'm not going to say he's using anything until he's actually found guilty.
Re: Do you think Pacquiao is a drugs cheat?
i'm in the same position that i was in when Margarito was caught, i'm not really sure if Pacquiao is cheating, and i'm not one to fully throw the claim of calling a man a cheater, especially when it affects his means to make a living, right now it looks bad, but i won't say that he is cheating or not, i think theres a clear possibility especially given how he's handling the situation, but right now it's pretty back and forth
Re: Do you think Pacquiao is a drugs cheat?
Hello all,
This is my first post and thought I would add my opinion.
My thoughts mirror a couple of other posters on here. For the sake of boxing I really hope he hasn't been taking PED's. Boxing seems to be rising in popularity at the minute and Manny is one of the reasons for this. If he's guilty of taking PED's then it will really tarnish this sport.
Manny's been in some great fights and I've come to admire him for the way he fights and his behaviour outside of the ring. For me, there is still no conclusive evidence that PAC has been taking anything other than a few people making some noises. That's not enough to go on for me to call someone a cheat. However his reluctance to take these tests does raise some eyebrows and the fuss that he's kicking up certainly looks like someone who "may" have something to hide. He could have other motives for not wanting to take the tests. I'm not a professional athlete so I wouldn't understand these, but to me, they do seem pretty feeble excuses.
I don't have the first idea about PED's and testing but hasn't Manny come out and said he will give 3 blood tests? One when the fight is announced, one 30 days before the fight and the last one coming straight after the fight? I'm sure someone who is more clued up on PED's might put me straight here but if the statement PAC said was true about taking the 3 tests is there anyway he could take PED's between training, flush it out of his system 30 days before the fight and then take them again and flush them out in time for after the fight without being detected?
Ultimately it seems like a lot of fuss other something fairly insignificant but I'm of the stance that someone is innocent until proven guilty. Manny hasn't been found guilty of taking PED's and although his attitude to this is somewhat strange I'm going to say (and hope - for the sake of boxing) that PAC is innocent.
I'm still confident this fight will go ahead!! Come on Manny, sort it out!

Welcome to Saddoboxing hope you enjoy your stay. The specifics of cycling certain PEDs have been listed on other posts here recently and should be very easy to find. I think we share the same viewpoint on Pacquiao. I just hope Manny takes the random blood tests which are really no big deal and we get the fight made.
Re: Do you think Pacquiao is a drugs cheat?
I've deleted a couple of posts - please keep personal insults etc. off the main boards.
Re: Do you think Pacquiao is a drugs cheat?
There's no way Manny has taken enhanced drugs during his domination of fights,he's not the type.Plus with the days when Roy Jones Junior being caught taking enhanced drugs during flutuating in weights throughout his carrer i cant see Roach and Manny risking taking drugs. For me Mayweather knows how to get under his opponants skin and its working on Manny this time around,Mayweather knows it would cause upraw and he knows that the only opponant that can beat him is Manny!
Re: Do you think Pacquiao is a drugs cheat?
Yvonne, I agree with you that Floyd is smart but I think you're giving him WAY too much credit on this one. This goes back to what one of the posters said earlier. This is a pride thing. This is about Manny not wanting Floyd to dictate to him what he has to do. That's why they're taking this to the NSAC. From what I've been reading, Golden Boy will state their case before the NSAC as to why they want this random blood testing done and who they want it done by, then Manny's camp will state their case. Whatever the NSAC decides after that, I've read, Manny will adhere to. He just wants it coming from a boxing governing body, not Floyd. In some instances I'm not sure I blame Manny for being a little paranoid. Golden Boy is becoming (or has already become) the new Don King.

Which is a bit foolish considernig all the demands Manny asks for. He did the same vs Miguel Cotto.
Re: Do you think Pacquiao is a drugs cheat?
The truth is no one knows except him and his camp. Hell it's possible floyd is using for all it's worth. But pac's actions sure look shady...

Shady is an understatement at this point, PAC has officially taken legal action instead having a tiny bit of blood drawn. In a case that has no way of winning, because the only way to prove or disprove his innocence lies in Pac's blood. I guess with the NSAC requiring a urine test in less than two days it was important for Team Pac to get the legal action moving.

im with you on this one. but i think he will win. theres no way to prove yet that he's taking anything and theres no proof for big mouth floyd sr to accuse manny of anything and he made his accusations public through fighthype and other sites.thats the proof that manny will use against him.anyway, i have a feeling manny will agree to testing once this lawsuit gains momentum. many of you here think that manny is dumb coz his english is not that great but he is as smart if not smarter than the mayweather camp put together. i think that he is pissed at floyd sr about the accusation and he wants to milk him dry. the fight will happen. maybe not on march 13 but it will happen.

I don't think Manny's dumb, I think he's hiding something.
What's his gain here? Bleed em dry? NO the max he takes out of this case in his pocket is $375k that's nothing to these guys ($75k per accused, 5 total).
Pacquiao either
A. Didn't really want to fight in the first place
or
B. Has something to hide
Why else would he go to court instead of the ring?
Re: Do you think Pacquiao is a drugs cheat?
I can't think of anything more infuriating than if someone were to make a false allegation against me, which would make me want to knock them out. Unfortunately I would go to jail if I did so. Manny, however, has the luxury of doing just that and not only at the expense of avoiding prison time, but picking up an extra $40 million. The fact that he's not jumping at the chance to get in the ring now with Floyd leads me to believe he's taking something.
