And you can bet your arse that Mundine has made a shitload more coin than Katsidis has done over the course of their careers.
So - who has been mismanaged, Mundine or Katsidis? When Katsidis has to retire at 32 because of all the wars he's been in, or Mundine who can make $500,000 to beat someone with about as much boxing skill as I have up til the age of about 40?
I know what you guys mean about Mundine being poorly handled - but he's made an awful lot of money in his career and taken relatively little punishment - I'm pretty sure he doesn't go to bed at night worrying about what thw hardcore boxing fans on Saddo's have to say about him:-\
Because people he has beaten has more TV time and more national exposure then he will. You hear of Soliman and Danny Green more then you hear about him and he beat them both, fights weren't made for him at 169 so he moved to 160 and still couldnt be made so he is now at 154 he has to move down two weight classes to get a fight for a paper championship when after knocking out Soliman was on the brink of being a breakout star, if thats not mismanaged I don't know what is.

Yeah, fair point man. He has made some good scratch from it, far more than playing rugby league.

I agree with you both here. Mismanaged can mean many things in many circumstances. It seems Mundine has done very well promoting himself in dollar terms. He's made great money and been relatively unscathed in his career. Don't forget tho Katsidis makes $US dollars though. I bet he is going ok. But i think people are getting a bit sick of Mundine fighting who he is and expecting us to pay for it. People have gone off the idea now. And yes after the Soliman fight he seemed to have all these contacts in the US and has seemingly done nothing about it. So that i agree could be called mismanagement as in 50 years time if someone looks back they wont be seeing Mundine as the man. Just some other wasted talent who won a few good fights.

I have always been a supporter of mundine, i like the way he fights and i know the trash talk is just for hype and his dad is a friend of my family. But...i cant and refuse to pay for his fights anymore, its just not worth it. Have even been offered free tickets before (due to my dads uncle being good friends with tony mundine) still declined coz i knew it wasnt worth the trip to sydney. I just wish Khoder Nasser would market him alot better outside of Australia but then again... hes the only aussie fighter that has been able to make big money without doing that much, i guess thats a good thing for him just not the fans.
