Glad its done. Picking FLoyd as Shane has only 1 really great showing in the last 5 or more years, against a guy complete opposite to Floyd. Won't be a beatdown and Shane's power may cause Floyd to be cautious.

This fight is several years too late. No question Shane is still no pushover...and he can make this a competitive fight. But Floyd just has too much skill and polish. It's hard to make too much out of his Mosley's destruction of Margerito. Clearly Shane looked more fluid under Nasem Richardson's tutelage. But Tony has never been a hard guy to hit. I wont say Shane has no chance...he is still in remarkable shape for his age and is a warrior. But i see Floyd winning on points. But no question this fight is clearly a more intriguing match up than Pac vs. Clottey.
Im a big fan of both fighters, but until there actually in the ring. Im not gonna believe its actually on, too many times i've heard that a fighter has "signed". Only to have the fighter pull out a few weeks later. But yes it is great for the sport if it is happening.
Might have been more interesting if Mosley hadn't been so inactive.
38-years-old.
15 months out of the ring.
Outboxed by Miguel Cotto.
Good luck.
Props for Floyd ??? Why?, this is the fight he should be having anyway if he wants to be recognised as the BEST - for me its about time and should be a given from Floyd imo ;)
Shane is going to Miami on Friday to promote the fight and appear on Reebok, have no idea what that is but it's what 'he' put on his Twitter account...both have announced the fight has been signed.
And you all thought Twitter was for Stephen Fry types. :D
Where within my post did i say it was going to be easy
Just because your the best, doesnt make it automatically an easy matchup. All im saying is this is a fight Floyd should not be delaying on and not getting props for fighting a man he should have fought many moons ago imo.
gotcha. I hope Shane comes in sharp to make a good contest of it. ;)
He was just preparing for Berto who fights similar to Floyd when he is actually boxing.
I think Cotto's timing would have given Mosley a ton of trouble at any point in his career, I think Cotto would have landed the same even against the version of MOsley that faced Oscar the first time, I think Mosley would have a won a close fight.
All in all Mosley might be even better or nearly as well suited for Mayweather as he ever was. I don't think him having a little more speed would have played that huge of a role in this fight because Mayweather's defensive skills are good. I think Oscar did a lot better against Mayweather than he would have early on in his career because he followed through with an really intelligent game plan whereas I believe he would have tried to outbox Mayweather more in his prime and he didn't have the same defensive skills. I think Mosley has improved in certain areas that would make him the hardest challenge he would have been for Floyd since he originally moved up to 147. I think a few years ago he would have tried to simply out power Floyd, now I think he will try to fight a little more like he did against Collazo. Pull his full power for his punches but be more accurate and throw more.
I'm giving Floyd credit for signing to fight Shane. I will commend him if he actually steps in the ring with Mosley. I just hope there won't be any fake injury leading up to the fight.
Anyway, I have the fight for Floyd winning by UD.
