If he can do that then I think he can decision B-Hop.
He is STILL faster than Hopkins.
And Hopkins has not fought someone faster than him in a 5 years.
but Hopkins still has his timing, something Jones clearly doesn't as was evident against Calzaghe
Re: Hopkins-Jones,can Jones win?
I give Roy a 10% chance of winning.
Re: Hopkins-Jones,can Jones win?
Roys already made his bed. He will be off to sleep again.
Re: Hopkins-Jones,can Jones win?
No way no how Jones even has a chance to win this. His only hope at avoiding another brutal KAYO is if the fight gets canceled or if Hopkins slips on a banana peel on his way to the ring.
Re: Hopkins-Jones,can Jones win?
I hope Roy pulls the victory and B Hop will be vengeful, bitter and twisted for the rest of his life. :)
Re: Hopkins-Jones,can Jones win?
Hopkins could get DQed, I think that's Roy's best shot.

Absolutely, that is the best possible result. Jones has kind of muddled on through these past few years, but Hopkins really looked quite mediocre last time out himself. He has a chance in this and isn't facing a cruiserweight. It's an old Hopkins with a low output and a tendency to sleep for at least a few rounds in all of his fights.

Calzaghe was faster than Hopkins and that fight happened in April 08, less than 2 years ago. Hopkins was able to make a close fight out of it as well while Jones on the other hand................

:)
Jokes aside, Hopkins won't able to apply the pressure the Calzaghe did on Jones but Jones won't be able to apply the same pressure Calzaghe was able to do against Hopkins.
The difference is Jones legs are totally gone and his chin seems vulnerable and Hopkins power does seem to have decent power at 175.
I see the fight being competitive early but as the fight progresses, i see Jones going to the ropes more and more often which Hopkins will take advantage of. He won't go crazy like Joe did but he will pick his shots and eventually stop Jones on the ropes. It going the distance with Hopkins taking a clear UD wouldn't surprise me either, it's obviously more likely than a stoppage.
Re: Hopkins-Jones,can Jones win?
I love how Hopkins makes it sound like Jones last fight should not have been stopped and that Jones is still a top fighter........Hopkins must think the fans are complete idiots......I hope no one buys Jones/Hopkins.......
Re: Hopkins-Jones,can Jones win?
I don't think Jones can win, Hopkins is too well schooled. He'll probably give Jones a horrible beating!

Calzaghe was on cocaine so it doesn't count. ;D
I think Jones has a chance.
I'm a huge fan of both though.
May the best man win.
I'll be rootin for Roy, cus he is the underdog.

haha good point. ;D
Joe's wins should all be changed to no contests. :)
Re: Hopkins-Jones,can Jones win?
Yeah, he needs to get a whack in the chops "ooo........ow" and fall on the floor waiting for another shot to rain in. Then he can spasm his way to a victory.

Jones is already making excuses about a forthcoming loss by saying that Hopkins has waited this long to fight him. I don't see a confident Jones Jr., just a washed-up fighter who will probably get KO'd by Hopkins.

I have never been a big Jones fan but I hope he can pull off the upset here coz Hopkins is an arrogant obnoxious big mouth with a chip on his shoulder.
Can anybody see Jones winning this?
Not a freaking chance!
