Re: Arreola weighs in at 250 pounds and Adamek at 217
Lol. How hard can it be to get into some kind of shape? Baffling.

That's actually my dream fight at Heavyweight.
It would be MASSIVE in Europe.
I scream that for 6 months if not more, size and skills wise, that would be the hell of an intriguing fight, massive in Europe and I am sure it has the potential to compete for the fight of the year. We won't probably see it but damn, it would be excellent.
Yeah the size match up is that of a seemingly classical match up.
Plus there almost the same size, it just seems right.
Re: Arreola weighs in at 250 pounds and Adamek at 217
Any pics of the weigh-in??
The thing with Arreola just has to be the fact that his lifestyle when in training is just exactly the same as when in training or not much different. There is just no way that he diets differently and specially for training time.
"Burger and a Bud in between sparring rounds anyone." I would love to see a great fight from this, but there is just no way that I can promote in any way shape or form the condition that Arreola shows on fight night. Its just not correct for the sport. If he hasn't learnt now he ain't ever gonna learn. He knows he likes a beer, he's a super humble guy, heard a great interview with him ages ago, hes in shape inside but not on the out. But thats just ain't good enough. If Adamek means business at Heavyweight, he just has to beat Arreola and box him well....
Re: Arreola weighs in at 250 pounds and Adamek at 217
Arreola needs a new trainer who will force him to train properly. In his defense, he weighs less than he has in a while and seems to have trained harder for this fight than any of his recent fights because he knows he'll have to cut the ring off to be effective.
I'm of the belief that Arreola will never get to the very top with this trainer, but that he is better than most heavyweights out there and that Adamek isn't a true heavyweight. I guess telling from people's comments, most people disagree.
Does anyone find it a little fishy that in less than three years Adamek has jumped close to 50 pounds and still looks ripped? That's a lot of protein shakes. How many pounds did Pac jump in that same amount of time - 15? Just throwing it out there.
One more thing, I'm a big Adamek fan. I've been to two of his fights and the guy always puts on a good show. Hats off to him. If he wins on Saturday he should break the top ten/fifteen p4p.

I for one brought this up when some of those pictures surfaced against Estrada in training camp. How he looked insanely big as compared to the man who faced Dawson at 175 only a few short years ago. There still is no evidence but in my mind he is definetly taking something. It doesn't matter right now as I would still like it if he beat Areola.

Well, one thing we can be sure of, Arreola sure as hell isnt' taking anything :D
And I respect your opinion fightfan, but Arreola's gonna walk through Adamek. And once again, everyone is going to downplay the win because he's a fat f*ck. Arreola only loses to the K brothers in the division.
Re: Arreola weighs in at 250 pounds and Adamek at 217
Here's the fightnews link Boxing: Arreola 33 pounds heavier
There's some pics on there, Arreola doesn't look any worse than he has at he previous weigh-ins. Maybe the CSAC should ban trans-fats ;D
Re: Arreola weighs in at 250 pounds and Adamek at 217
Seriously how hard can it be to come in in shape? In a sport like this the one thing you must do to maximise your chance of winning is to perpare properly. And from those weights Arreola hasn't done that. I think Adamek wins this one, boxes circles around him. Arreola packs a big punch so it should be really interesting to see what happens when he catches Adamek. But if Adamek wins it'll be nice to see an in-shape heavyweight near the top of the division with the Klits and Haye. I don't think its any coincidence that the guys at the top of this division are the ones that are in shape

Just watch the 1st and 2nd briggs fight and you`ll see how open he left himself. Cant afford to do that tommorow night, arreola will end it there and then if he lands big
To be fair I think Adamek was way too big for LHW by then and that is why he started having trouble down there. No doubt if Arreola lands clean he can get Adamek out, but how much will he take coming in?? I see Adamek making a big statement here.
Hell, he might even get another all Polish bout on after with the mighty Sosnowski.... then the world is his lol
Adamek complained about making weight and all, but he didn't get outta the LHW division for quite a while after the Briggs fights.
Briggs gave him all he could handle because the guy was a master at punching between punches. Adamek likes to think everything he throws is meaningful, but put a guy in front of him that will not be bothered by a few straight shots, doesn't mind trading punches, and you've got yourself a great fight... see Adamek vs Arreola
Aside from that, it's no wonder everyone wants Adamek to win.. We are trying to dethrone these Klitshkos, right? Well Arreola has already had his shot, and he came up WELL SHORT of ANY goal. (personally I think he would do a little better against Wladamir)
Re: Arreola weighs in at 250 pounds and Adamek at 217
Arreola might be a bit of a chubba but I see him winning this fight.

I wanted that fight at CW, just like I wanted Haye Cunningham at CW

Unless burritos and Coronas somehow enhance performance ;)
I think Adamek comes to fight, he'll get in very solid work early and probably is up on the scorecards when Arreola lands flush....I say Arreola TKO 5. Cris has a tendency to start out slow and let the other guy do work....that will eventually hurt him if he faces a solid pure boxer with good defense and a solid chin, but it could be years before he fights anyone with those skills.
I think Arreola-Peter is a hell of a match and with the shape Sam Peter was in vs Nagy Aguillera I think Sammy could take him. An in shape and dedicated Sam Peter is going to be tough for anyone to beat....well almost anyone.
If Arreola decides to switch trainers I think Ronnie Shields is a top guy he could learn a lot from.

I completely agree.
If Arreola beats Adamek, is Adamek the best heavyweight Arreola has beat?
Arreola-Chambers is a good fight if Arreola gets by Adamek.
Re: Arreola weighs in at 250 pounds and Adamek at 217
Arreola should take up darts.
