Israel at it again

And to hell with the Israeli argument that "they attacked us". You boarded their boat armed up to the nines along with planes and helicopters! Their self defence was no more than the Palestinians throwing rocks to defend themselves. You invade a boat on neutral territory then you are the aggressing party!

The Israeli's have warned their citizens not to travel to Turkey. I would add Korea to the list. I once met a guy from Israel in Korea and he was a cunt, I should have glassed him while I had the chance. No, that would have been mean. But had we talked politics and he defended their bullshit I should have. That would be like an Englishman defending the Iraq war, you would deserve a good slapping for that. I'm surprised we haven't seen more slain Americans TBH.

I cannot believe they actually boarded the ship and started shooting. A minimum of 19 dead and 30 plus injured? This is beyond outrageous. I see there have been huge protests in Turkey.

I just saw on the news William Hague apparently saying something along the lines of "we think the loss of life is terrible but there was always risk in approaching Gaza in such a way". Why should there be any risk? Palestine should be a free country. The waters were international waters. Aid should be allowed into Palestine at any time. Unbelievable attitudes. Israel should NOT be getting away with this shit! The ships were nowhere near the shore anyway. :rolleyes:

I think Israel is in an intolerable position, a position like we cannot imagine. Yes it's hard for both sides, but they are technically at was with Palestine and with Hamas and are obviously not going to allow a flotilla of ships through their blockade to possibly arm the enemy.

The news reporting, and especially in this thread is one sided. Peaceful aid humanitarians.............unprovoked Israeli aggression....there are two sides to the story and everyone is just assuming the activist side is the truth.

No country would allow a nation they were at war with and blockading their ports to recieve supplies from ships from other lands.

They were told not to enter the waters and had to be restrained. They then turned violent on the Israelis, I don't see what else they could do.

If the police were attacked by a crowd like that attacking them with with axes, and weapons they would open fire, there is simply no other choice.

It's a wretched situation on both sides, but Israel as a tiny state surrounded by enemies on all sides, and whom have a civilisation spanning history of being attacked, oppressed and reviled are obviously a paranoid nation.

Jesus disciples only appeared 70 years after his death eh. That's interesting. So who followed him and why was he killed? I mean why execute a man who had no followers in his lifetime, if nobody knew who he was?

Seriously that is lame bro. Biblical prophecy is irrefutable, there is nothing in the Bible that has been disproved or contradicted and everything continues to come true exactly as stated to this day.

The blockade is illegal. Israel is only allowing about a quarter of humanitarian supplies (food, medicine etc.) through to Gaza of the amount actually needed. They're basically starving 1.5 million people. As an Israeli minister said a few years ago, they're putting the Palestinians on a diet. Currently tens of thousands of Gazan children are suffering from chronic malnutrition. Israel is collectively punishing 1.5 million people illegally. We put Nazis on trial at the end of WW2 and executed them for taking part in the collective punishment of relatively small numers of people, village-sized numbers.

Wales isn't really a good analogy except size-wise. Imagine if the French had invaded and ethnically cleansed every British person into Wales, took over the rest of the country (England, Scotland, N.Ireland) and settled their people there, kept the British people in cramped refugee camps in Wales under brutal military occupation for over 40 years, pumped half of Wales' water out to England for French use, prevented Brits fishing off the Welsh coastline, constantly killed and maimed large numbers of civilians, spent 40 years building French settlements in Wales and taking over up to 50% of Welsh land, refused to recognise any kind of British state while demanding the Brits recognise that the French now own the rest of Britain etc. That's a much more accurate analogy.

You can't be at war with a bunch of people that use terrorist tactics. Israel have a smaller version of the US army and Hamas have sugar-powered rockets and small arms.

On a more general note, Israel won't allow journalists access to the peace convoy people and are managing the media as per usual so we only get their side of the story. The fact that they've released only a couple of minutes of video means we don't know what started it and broadcasts by the peace people from the boat where the Israeli video comes from show journalists decribing the boat coming under attack from Israeli vessels before they were even boarded. The people on board could well have believed they were fighting for their lives when the Israelis boarded, had probably already seen people they knew killed by Israeli fire. There's no way the peace people initiated any violence and it's a joke to suggest they were armed with guns.

The US Congress will probably pass a resolution applauding Israel's brave defensive attack on the terrorist convoy. And Israel have done much worse stuff to Palestinians on a regular ongoing basis for decades. Because there are euro politicians, Christian clergy, Nobel peace prize winners etc. on board these vessels this will get some attention but the usurping entity does this kind of thing all the time to the Palestinians, peace be upon them. Israel shot two Palestinian teenage girls today in the West Bank for protesting the killings on the boats. You never see that kind of everyday thing in the papers. If everything done by Israel in the Palestinian territories was reported every day it would be clear who are the terrorists and who are the terrorised.

When people read that one woman was shot in the face and that two girls were killed, they have a pretty good idea of what's going on. Perhaps the general public does not, but no one participating in this thread doesn't know what violence looks like.

Those pictures are only anecdotal evidence anyways. I'm sure you could find images of dead Israeli soldiers and civilians and of Arab's doing things comparable to what those Jewish kids are doing in the other picture. It adds very little to the argument IMO, and it drives people like myself away from these types of discussions. Maybe other people feel differently or that I'm a pussy or whatever, but that is my opinion. And for the record, I firmly sympathize with the Palestinians.
