Ok, I'm just passing through quick today, but as strong as I feel about the Israeli situation (& I do feel they are a terrorist state who should face severe punishment for invading what was effectively Turkish soil in international waters), it is ridiculous that Yuri Foreman (who learnt to box as the only Jew alongside many Palestinians and Arabs) should have to deal with this hate, it's pathetic. I hope he beats Cotto now... and not only because of me & POB's bet.

I don't disagree with that, I just don't think there is any broad undercurrent of hatred being directed towards Foreman in any significant way as a result of his Jewish background.

Anyone heard anything about Bin London?

A man needs to make a fight interesting even if it isn't interesting on its own terms. The 'good versus evil' tagline is one to get me motivated for this one. I don't care if it makes me look anti-semitic, I want a thorough beatdown.

I know it's all a bit strong, but it will be fun to see Cotto bust him up. I really had no interest in this fight until about 24 hours ago. It's become much more interesting now. The Israeli flag has for me become the new Swastika. A symbol of repression and hate.

On paper it's a bit of a dull fight, but adding a bit of politics makes it far more relevant (for me).

....and Miles has become the new Hitler.

I know you're trying to conjure up strong reactions but moving it to the point of racism isn't cool Miles no matter how you justify it in your own head. Foreman is a nice guy.

No racism isn't cool and I know that. A week ago I didn't really care who won this fight and now I have someone to root for. It's as simple as that, you need to support someone in a fight. Foreman might well be a nice guy, but so is Cotto and he isn't training to be a rabbi. Cotto wins.
