The criteria for a sport to be accepted into the Olympics seems to be pretty random. Modern Pentathlon despite being invented by Coubertin looks like being dropped next time as well as windsurfing. They say it's about what looks best on TV but then why have a BMX race instead of freestyle or skateboarding? MMA would be such a different beast with full padding, a focus on point scoring and without an international amateur code would be hard to integrate. Even amateur and pro boxing seem to have a growing chasm inbetween. Pivoting from the waist and head movement are crucial in avoiding blows in the pro game and general fitness and endurance levels are crucial, as is the art of body punching. In the Olympics this is not the case and it seems to be more about fast feet and multiple connections with the knuckle part of the glove, however light or ineffective in slowing down or stopping the opponent.
I'm going out for trampoline next olympics.
A good old fashioned game of knuckles.
Ohh America has bluffed Iran three times its a free hit ;D
