I think Pac beats Martinez but the damage required for that victory might affect him for the rest of his life.
Martinez and PaulW are fighting for the MIDDLEWEIGHT crown :D that's quite an odd considering pac weigh in at 144 last time out.
Pacquiao should consider Bradley, Berto or maybe JMM.
Most people are getting carried away and standards are getting higher and higher. Marg should be pac's heaviest, they should not consider anything heavier than that.
Erik Morales II ( March 2006) - Pacquiao was 144 fight night
Margarito ( November 2010 ) - Pacquiao was 148 fight night
Pacquiao is a small man and should be fighting at 140.
I'm sorry but the "maybe JMM" part is just too funny...
You seriously feel JMM deserves a maybe?
When he has "argueably" beat Pac twice...
Next to PBF (whom IMO should be the 1st option) JMM should be 2nd.
Bradley and Berto would be good choices but you can't compare.
You make some reasonable points at times but sometimes the fanboyism just takes you away a little.

Not saying JMM is shot or anything, but at this stage of their careers, I'm guessing Manny would win decisively at 140 against JMM. I'm not saying Manny would KO marquez, just that manny's been more comfortable fighting over 140 and he did seem to have carried his power and speed with him. I'm still convinced the winner of bradley berto would present a better opponent than marquez. Not berating JMM, he deserves his P4P Ring ranking in my book. Just that even if he does defeat Katsidis, he's still an underdog for me judging from manny's victories.

albeit you said arguably, jmm beat pac twice? yup fanboyism do sometimes takes you away a little. at what weight did they fight? right, at 126 and 130lbs and how long ago was that? how has jmm been performing at the higher weights and i ask you the same of pac. so, i think the "maybe" at 140 remark is warranted. ;)

Sorry about that :D
Yeah I think JMM deserves a 3rd fight.

Yeah i agree :D
but i rather have that and be correct all these years ( 8 yrs and counting ). fanboyism lets you see things others cant :)
I promise not to post like that again about JMM. Pac is tailor made for Juan :)

team Pac should have special arrangements for Juan. after all he will be remembered most with his 2 fights with Pac.
Re: Pacman vs Sergio Martinez?
Aside from Mayweather, and even though Pac naturally is around 145 pounds for a fight, there is really no point in him staying at 147..
Why I say that is he is in a league above everyone else.... Mayweather is similar in size and offers the skill challenge to him... But minus Mayweather, Pac will demolish anyone 147 or below...
For Pac to be seriously challenged, he has to fight bigger fighters.... Manny is obviously not going to put on more weight regardless of whether he's fighting at 147 or 160...
It all just depends on how big the guy is he wants to take on, and what weight they can get that guy to negotiate coming down to... That's the only way he's going to truly challenge himself..
Also I don't have a problem with catch weights at all... ASIDE from when 2 fighters are competing for a belt 3 or 4 pounds above the catch weight set for the fight... I think that's not quite right (however I tolerate opinions arguing for it being okay).
In a way, I don't really consider Pac fighting at 154 "going up to 154".. He's still going to weight 147.. I just considering him "fighting a 154 pound fighter".... So in a way I agree with everyone saying he shouldn't move above 147.. But he can fight whoever the hell he likes above that.. And probably HAS to if Mayweather doesn't man up.
