Re: How does the P4P ranking look now?
1 Manny Pacquiao
2 Floyd Mayweather Jr
3 Juan Manuel Marquez
4 Sergio Martinez
5 Fernando Montiel
6 Pongsaklek Wongjongkam
7 Wladimir Klitschko
8 Timothy Bradley
9 Juan Manuel Lopez
10 Anselmo Moreno
I put the last one in just to spice it up, but he is quite an impressive little fighter.

Froch is my controversial pick. I can erase him if he loses on Saturday night.

In my Floyd Sr. voice, "People who put that little midget no. 1 p4p, don't know shit about boxing. Motherfucker is a homosection.":p

Re: How does the P4P ranking look now?
What's with all the Wlad/Vitali picks? How can they be Pound-for-pound among the 10 best boxers on earth when they fight with a HUGE size advantage in virtually every contest?
Only CFH doesn't deserve a slap.
(Wlad is on The Ring list because he promotes their belt, if he didn't they wouldn't give him a mention. Fact.)
Re: How does the P4P ranking look now?
Im a bit suprise to see people are putting wlad on their top 10 now.
Also is floyd retired or active? I dont know if we should count him in, if he is not planning on fighting anyone.

Re: How does the P4P ranking look now?
Yeah after hearing about Martinez' impressive victory I thought this guy has to be at least 3-4 on the list..Guys a ridiculous athlete. The only thing that would make me more happy for him now is pulverizing what's left of Antonio Margarito's face to avenge his only real loss and then getting that big money fight he deserves. Guys done it the hard way!
Wow, you guys still have Floyd as number 2?? I'm surprised he hasn't been exiled from these lists yet ;D I suppose if we keep him at number 2 it might eventually piss him off enough to do something about it....nah!

I've only see Lutian Bute a few times and he looks more skilled to me than Martinez but being from Canada... Well... It also looked to me like that Paul Williams was beating Martinez before he got caught? So I would say the rating system that compares skills of the boxers is swayed a bit more by the win loss record than it probably should be, since the comparison supposedly looks primarily at the sweet science skills due to weight class differences.

I guess the argument can be made that since Tyson in his prime was p4p no. 1 for 3 consecutive years and he was a HW, that Wlad and Vitali should also be on the list. Of course Tyson didn't have a massive height or weight advantage against his foes.

The fight was very young. Williams was throwing more, but Martinez was landing cleaner. It all comes to down how you score the fight. Williams was definitely not clearly winning or running away with the fight though.
