In that sense I would have to say Khan and I have no problems with that. At 24 he is doing well all things considered.
I really do think Tim Bradley is the best fighter in the division though.
And I created an option 5 just for you :p

Haye has had defining fights, against Enzo and Mormeck, arguably Valuev. Not this year though.
In hindsight Bilbo can you honestly say that was a defining fight? The Lee Swaby fight in truth showed enzo was a powerful chinny European standard fighter at best for me, people may argue Haye ruined him but looking closely Enzo was nowhere near world class and had already been ko.d by Lee Swaby.

Yeah i agree. Enzo was garbage.

I actually voted for the positive one in Khans favour, I will give credit where credit is due.

Yeah maybe you're right. But Enzo was still a world champion whereas Maidana never has been.
It was billed as the biggest all british fight for years and Haye smashed him to show he was a different class.
Mormeck and Valuev were defining though, Mormeck was regarded as the number 1 cruiserweight and he proved he was a legit heavyweight beating an over 7foot giant in Nikolay, even if it was a positively soporific effort.
Re: Khan, Froch or Haye. Who is the British fighter of the year?
I voted David Haye, the new force at HW. He is the only man in HW championship history to not have a punch landed on him in 2 rounds! Not even Ali, Tyson, Holyfield, Foreman, Dempsey, Louis, and all other HW legends can say that.:p
Re: Khan, Froch or Haye. Who is the British fighter of the year?
Khan, he's proved a lot of doubters wrong this year. Froch came back well from the Kessler defeat, but Haye let himself down getting involved in the Fraudley fiasco, hopefully he can pull it out the bag next year
Re: Khan, Froch or Haye. Who is the British fighter of the year?
Eventhough Khan clearly won the fight, I was actually more impressed with Maidana (except for the elbow). And for that, I have to give slight edge for Froch.
Re: Khan, Froch or Haye. Who is the British fighter of the year?
i'll go with carl froch. i think he's the UK's best fighter. amir khan, although very good, is a bit overrated!
Re: Khan, Froch or Haye. Who is the British fighter of the year?
Easily Froch look at his opposition in comparison to Haye and Khan he has been fighting the best and making a real great show of it. He lost his title in a real close war then fought Abraham and dominated him! He deserves it.
Re: Khan, Froch or Haye. Who is the British fighter of the year?
Got to go with Froch, his comp has been higher, he regained his title and the old dog learnt new tricks for Abraham.
Re: Khan, Froch or Haye. Who is the British fighter of the year?
Difficult one, personally I'm going to say I back the underdog in Froch, as he goes about his business despite the public view and gets the job done at a top class level. He's so underrated by the mainstream due to the shoddy promoting, and deserves to be a household name.
However, he lacks the 'personality' that this award demands. Therefore Haye is the inevitable choice in the publics opinion. Fighting on British soil, and capturing the non-boxing viewing public. His personality sells fights, along with his ability.
Khan has a good case after his performance against Maidana.
As I said though for me, Froch, definitely from a boxing fans perspective. He deserves some attention too.
Got a bit mixed up with the shitty BBC sports personality that I watched there :p

Froch has a great personailty witty clever and is very outspoken his problem is his promoter
Re: Khan, Froch or Haye. Who is the British fighter of the year?
Ricky Burns. Fuck the other 3
Re: Khan, Froch or Haye. Who is the British fighter of the year?
1. Amir Khan - undoubtedly
2. David Haye
3. Nathan Cleverly (beat undefeated Karo Murat and EU champ Nadjib Mohammedi)
Froch lost to Kessler so he's out of the race.
