I don't think he's scared of Ortiz, Alexander maybe. Maidana was very very limited.
Earn a fight with Khan? Khan's hardly fighting elite opposition. He's looking for any old bum.
Maidana is a much better fighter than Prescott. Khan will always be in with a chance of being ko'd by a puncher. That will never change, regardless of how many times he beats a Prescott or a Maidana style of fighter.
Disagree about him looking for any old bum. Every fighter he's looked at as a possible ooponent beat Prescott 9 times out of 10.
Seen as though he can't fight Alexander or Bradley, he is pretty limited.

I reckon Prescott loses 10 out of 10 to Peterson and McCloskey. 9 out of 10 to Murray because he would land a few of those wild predictable haymakers.
Re: why is khan ducking prescott??
I don't think Prescott has any sort of mental edge to speak of...
Khan is now a champion, he has fought and beat fighters who are levels above prescott and he has Freddy Roach in his corner for god's sake... no way could Prescott luck out twice.

That's silly. Just because fighter X can beat fighter Y doesn't also mean fighter Z would beat him too.
Bottom line. Prescott beat the shit out of Khan. Khan needs and opponant, this would generate alot of interest/money, Khan doesn't want it.

Barring Prescott's "1 in 100" night against a novice Khan he's a borderline journeyman. McCloskey would beat him 10 out of 10.
Although, I agree with you, none of it matters.
The fight WOULD sell. You honestly telling me you wouldn't watch it? :)
(I should start a poll).

Yeah of course i'd watch it. I will watch Khan's next fight whoever the opponent is. I don't think avenging the loss is such a big deal though. There's an endless list of "great" fighters with blemishes on their record.
Lennox rematched McCall because the vacant WBC title was on the line. And Rahman was an immediate rematch for all the titles. The opponent has to offer something.
Prescott offers Khan nothing. I don't think it sells any better than the already mentioned possible opponents.

With the proper marketing, I think it could sell better. Marketing a PPV to the casual fan, who doesn't realize the level of improvement by Khan, the rematch with Prescott has an easily exploited dramatic factor missing with all the other opponents.
But the risk/reward factor might not be worth it. I'd agree that it could be a tough fight for Khan - if he let it.
Re: why is khan ducking prescott??
Pac didnt avenge his KO losses to bums and it hasnt affected his standing much but if I were Khan Id want to get a win over Prescott just to show how much I'd improved.
Its a fighter pride and if someone blows you away in a round and continues to call you out and curse you in public, the problem isnt going to go away until you put it right. Khan should forget arguing about money against Peterson and Mcclosky etc and man up for a change. Put Prescot in his place then fight the Bradley - Alexander winner.

:boxingmatch::chick07mj8: Smilies speak louder than words.
Re: why is khan ducking prescott??
Prescott does not deserve the chance against Khan, he has lost twice, but Khan seems desperate to get a fight with someone so it would make sense just to fill the April fight.
Re: why is khan ducking prescott??
Khan has bigger things going for him...Prescott jopes he would beat Khan again the way he did in the first fight and it would propell him into something big!...Can not believe I am saying this but!!!!!!....Khan has matured since then and he is a different fighter....He would beat Prescott assuming he is not mentally fucked from the KO loss.....

I don't totally disagree with you and part of me would like to see it again. Just stating that the guys Khan has been looking at are better fighters than Prescott.
I don't think it's Khan who doesn't want it. Golden Boy might not be keen though. Pretty sure Khan would fight anyone.
Re: why is khan ducking prescott??
It's pretty damn obvious Con wants nothing to do with the sequel to Gone in 54 seconds.
Re: why is khan ducking prescott??
That hook from Prescott was ridiculous. It knocked me out and when I came to, Khan was on the floor.
I wouldn't be surprised if Khan feared it.
Re: why is khan ducking prescott??
Well I think Prescott is getting kind of devalued, because he didnt lose to bad fighters. It also looks like he was probably struggling to make lightweight, because he moved up right after those losses. With that being said I still think Khan will win the rematch, because of Freddie Roaches training camps, just looked at what he has done with JCC JR. If he made that guy into a fighter just imagine what he can do with someone who had skills beforehand.
