After the DLH loss i don't think we ever saw vargas enter the ring in tip top condition he always looked like he was carrying excess weight and he was never ripped again. This caused him problems with his speed and meant he took a lot of uneccessary punishment. He would not have lost to Mayorga in his prime.

If it's for money that's a shame because he must have earned a fortune to last a few lifetimes. Too many cheerleaders sucking him dry probably.

Vargas was a warrior and should stay retired.

I think it was too much too young with Vargas, went in with Tito far too early. All that money early in his career did him no favours he got accustomed to the good life and the hunger went away.

As Rockys trainer Mickey once said: "you was hard and you was nasty and you had this cast iron jaw but then the worst thing happened to you that could happen to any fighter, you got civilised"

His boxing skills were much better than many gave him credit for, he could have used that more instead of wanting to prove how tough he was all the time, mind you he might not have had as many fans as he did :)

Ahh yes... Vargas. As much as I rooted for Tito to KTFO him in their fight.... I was also rooting for Vargas to KTFO Oscar when they fought. It started out well enough, but it wasn't meant to be. Tito had already softened him up.

If he's serious about this comeback, he's gonna have to put down the hog lard and gravy shakes.....

Fighters like Vargas completly soil everything they did in the past with these comebacks.
