Re: a LEGEND in the making
JCC jnr is not good enough to mix with world class fighters and is not fit to carry the name but very few are.

You went into a thread titled "a LEGEND in the making", and you thought it was going to be about BRADLEY?!?
:vd:
Hahahaha
Re: a LEGEND in the making
When Chavez Sr. came up, he was 40-something and zero...no names on his record, and he fought Adrian Arreola at the Olympic Auditorium, in LA, barely won a split decision. (Arreola was a tough local fighter, top-ten fringe guy) and everybody thought Chavez was another overrated Mexican fighter with an inflated record but he did pretty well thereafter. Flloyd Patterson refused to let Tracy Harris Patterson fight for a title until after his 50th pro fight.
I've seen lots of fighters win "world" titles in their 12th pro fights and don't think it makes 'em good...bring a guy along slow. Is Chavez Jr "world class"? I don't think much of anybody is world class any more.
Re: a LEGEND in the making
I remember how Chavez Sr. was also hated by boxing fans, annalists, commentators, etc. many thought he would do no good against elite contenders and now look at his accomplishments and people still won’t give him credit. I wonder if the same will happen to Jr. If he didn’t have the “Chavez” last name people would probably give him the nod.

If he didn't have the "Chavez" last name he would've never gotten away with a 42-0 record without having fought a live body. He may or may not have what it takes (trying to be objective here).... but with the amount of coddling he's getting, I guess we'll never find out.
Re: a LEGEND in the making
How will he fare against Zbik?
