Had to bring this thread back in light of the current state of the super-bantamweight division and the fact that Nonito has recently moved up to attempt a coup d'etat of Arce's title. If this fight does get set, who do you think will win and will it be as easy for Nonito as he confidently suggests? Jorge has shown his fangs are still sharp and he still has a beast in him after he mauled Vasquez Jr. Is Arce in the most danger of his career? Or will Nonito's over confidence be his downfall?

Yeah I gotta say that Nonito still has this, however if he was to move up to fight Arce without taking on at least the winner of the Mares-Agbeko bout then I have to call foul. Just my opinion but that one and done $hit isn't enough to claim a division no matter who you beat.
nonito would catch arce with a punch that would probably knock darchiniyan back out.

There's always that chance that Arce could land that "one punch" on Donaire, but I'd have to admit that he would probably suffer through hell before it. But there's just something about Arce that makes me gun for him; his self sacrificing style and the never-back-down spirit that he pits behind every punch. I've often said that the lower weights need to be looked at differently then the higher weights. Remember that in the lower weights careers tend to be shorter, which means you can have only 10 fights but already be a top contender and or a champ. Careers aren't build up as much as other weight classes. I mean for example Eagle Junlaphan considered one of the best just 18-2, Yutaka Niida 23-2-3, Hideyuki Ohashi 19-5, Zolani Petelo 17-5-2, Yoko Gushiken 23-1, Chan-Hee Park 17-4-2, Sung-Kil Moon 20-2 to name a few. These are guys who are p4p some of the best from the lower weights. Sure the records don't stand a chance in comparison by numbers to those of Duran, Arguello, JCC and Monzon but again that's because things are different with the small guys.
Arce's record stands at 57-6-2 with titles and big names. His best weight class was Light Fly and for me he's somewhere in the top 6 of that weight class along with Gonzalez, Carbajal, Zapata, Chang & Yuh.
And I agree with the 2nd part of your post. Donaire would quite possibly send him into retirement.
