I thought he was awesome in that interview! Loved the "Johnny, do you want to sit next to James" comment, which was spot on.
that was brilliant
though my particular fave being when george claimed james ran his trainer after he beat him in the amateurs claiming he couldnt come into the gym as he was too embarrased at getting beat
groves conducted himself perfectly, made JDG perfectly aware words meant shit to him and that this was his fight to lose
the more i think about this fight the closer i actually see it. Groves is no way gonna roll over to a man he has quite a bit of distaste for nor is he gonna fall into any of JDGs mind games

Degale is too stupid for mind games, he will rely on his talent.
Hate the fact this is PPV, you pay your subscription and then they ask for more, next it will be pay per round by Warren!!!
Re: Who won the war of words on Ringside? Groves or De Gale?
Groves won the argument and I hope he wins the fight. Going into it I felt James would win for sure, but knowing how cautious Adam Booth & David Haye are when it comes to making fights as business decisions, I can't believe for a second that they would allow this if they didn't believe in George's ability to win.
Re: Who won the war of words on Ringside? Groves or De Gale?
DeGale is trying to put on a brash persona to sell the fight but he fails embarrasingly. Hes babbling on about something then stops and says"forgotton what I was on about" so Groves just talks over him;D
Then DeGale offers anyone a bet that he will win inside 4. Groves instantly stands up and offers his hand for a handshake on the bet and DeGale very quickly back tracks;D
DeGale has no conviction in his voice, he goes quiet and high pitched when talking his shit.
They may seem to have diffeerent levels of success in their respective pro careers but when you look closer, Groves is only 23 and has 12 fights, whereas DeGale is 25 and has only 10 fights. Also, id rate Kenny Anderson a more dangerous opponent than Smith. Isnt Smith just a middle really?
I dont realy care who wins but Groves seems the more genuinly confident of a win.
Oh, also, I liked the comment Groves made about DeGale looking like a horse because of his long face and he did an impression taking the piss out of James right in front of him;D
Re: Who won the war of words on Ringside? Groves or De Gale?
Whilst Degale got owned in the studio far thicker fighters have beaten clever fighter like Benn did to Nicky Piper. ;D
Re: Who won the war of words on Ringside? Groves or De Gale?
Degale is sounding mre like a moron with each passing week. I actually don't think he is as bad a character as he might seem - I just think he is thick and has no self-awareness (he thinks his stupid voices and slogans sound good).
But Groves normally isn't as reasonable as he was there - He can come across like a prick too.
It's a close fight, I think Degale takes it, probably via points, but Groves has a real live chance.
Re: Who won the war of words on Ringside? Groves or De Gale?
Groves is obviously a lot more intelligent. Should be an interesting fight, I'd like to see groves win not sure he will though.
Re: Who won the war of words on Ringside? Groves or De Gale?
I actually see the mind games at 1-1 as in the press conference to announce the fight I feel James and Jim took the right piss out of George and Adam.
When Jim was going on and on and on I was praying that Adam would come back with some shit but he never did and actually feel he let George down by not doing so.
I bought my tickets for the fight and dont actually care who wins....i just want to see a classic!
Re: Who won the war of words on Ringside? Groves or De Gale?
groves lost his rag
i think it was pretty even, as much as i hate to admit it coz degale is a cock
Re: Who won the war of words on Ringside? Groves or De Gale?
I don't think DeGale or Jimmy Mac bettered the press conference. Slating Groves for being floored by Froch was pathetic. Getting floored by one of the worlds best supermiddles makes you a cunt? Ridiclous.

DeGale himself says that Froch is the best super middle in England, from him that is a massive complement.

That's what makes their taunts so stupid. They were slating GRoves, a virtual novice and man they are fighting next, for being decked by one of the best fighters in the world. If Froch can KO Groves that means DeGale can? Fools...
Re: Who won the war of words on Ringside? Groves or De Gale?
degale reminded me of naz just going 'i'll knock you out' constantly what a prick! groves owned him in that interview;D degale is such an unlikeable person
