This is why I haven't listened to the mainstream radio in years. But then again when I was an adolescent you had the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera coming up. Just never been a fan of this pop stuff.

Country artist as far back as Hank Williams Snr., Grandpa Jones, Minnie Pearl, Loretta Lynn.
Along many other genre of music. Back when music was real, not cut out of a mould with a cookie cutter like they are now.

Mainstream music is usually utter crap, but don't dismiss contemporary music entirely. There is a lot of very good stuff out there if you look for it and I say that is someone with a serious interest in quality music both past and present. It's just that the good stuff today usually evades the radar and isn't groomed like the X factor/boy band garbage.
