Re: Does Manny stop Shane?
i rewatched Mosley/Mayweather the other day, i've posted a bunch of times that Mayweather probably could have stopped Shane once he started landing the straight right flush and at will but due to his lack of killer instinct or preference to play it safe he just coasted to a decision win, IMO Manny won't be as carefree and probably pick him apart due to his speed and get a stoppage due to either cuts or swelling, like many have said Floyd does seem to hit a lot harder than his record implies but doesn't try to go for the KO unless it's basically right in his face
Re: Does Manny stop Shane?
Last night on the news I saw Pacquiao recording his new single, a remake of "Sometimes When We Touch", one of the all-time worst 'songs' ever written. That alone makes him deserving of an ass-kicking.
But I don't think Mosley will be the one to do it.

I feel this may wel;l be the fight in which later on we say Shane really (finally) showed his years, and its his last hurrah, if he's gonna win HE BETTER PULL SOMETHING OUT OF THAT LONG, DEEP BAG OF TRICKS HE HAS DEVELOPED AND KNOCK PAC OUT QUICK---REAL QUICK. Once the Phillipino Buzz Saw gets buzzin' and gets his rhythm going fine and smooth like a whirring machine, let's say by round 5, its a hopeless situation for Mosely.
I think Pac will stop Mosely in between 7 and 8. The doctor will actually stop it. Mosely's face will be swelled up like a hot air balloon, looking quite the jack o lantern with a grimace and a grin.
LMFAO, @ the Phillipino Buzz Saw gets buzzin', ain't that the damn truth, Manny is relentless once he gets started.

Ain't that the truth, that was a horrible song to begin with, and Pacquiao still manages to butcher it, I wish he'd stick to boxing.
Re: Does Manny stop Shane?
I can't see Manny knocking Mosley out, he couldn't ko Margarito so what makes you guys think he can ko Mosley? The only way Pacman wins is a 12 round ud on work rate. I think Mosley will surprise alot of people next Saturday, everyone is writing him off and he knows this is his last chance at a big fight. Manny isn't exactly hard to hit he leaves himself open when he lunges in with the straight left, if slow hands Margarito can tag him then Mosley Definitley can and will at some point in the fight. On the other hand though if Mosley fights the jerky gun-shy style like he did against Mayweather then I could be in for a horrible night of watching one of my all time favourite fighters take a lot of punishment.

I see this as a dead cert 12 round fight with Shane tiring down the stretch and losing a decision, but I think it could be interesting early, and think Shane has the power to instantly change the fight if he lands.
Certainly he will find Manny a lot easier to hit than Floyd or Sergio Mora, his last two opponents.
Pac should win, but it's not a gimme fight, and if Manny stops him then that would be a very impressive performance indeed.
I agree that Mosley isn't going to be a pushover, Manny will have to earn it, like I said in the OP, Shane has good chin, and he knows how to survive when he gets hurt. (like in the 2 fights with Forrest)
Not that Pacquiao is likely to get much credit for it, but I also agree that stopping Shane would take a remarkable/impressive performance.
Re: Does Manny stop Shane?
i ALREADY see the pac lovers giving way too much credit to Pac for beating a MUCH older, WAY past his prime fighter....yet again.
This fight makes no sense what so ever, and the sad thing is, I think Pac will dispose of Mosley and then the Pacmaniacs will say "oh look, pacman did it faster than Floyd, which is why Pac is better!"
Please..

Re: Does Manny stop Shane?
you know the logical side of me wants to say that pacqiou will beat mosley so bad he will forget what city he is in, but the boxer in me sees shane knocking pac man out.
If mosely can muster up another right hand like the one he hit mayweather with, he can win.
Mosley will always be a dangerous fight at any age, i recall watching margarita fight and they were wondering if he got one more good fight left in him....well...he did...thus if manny wins this fight, he gets full credit and just due, something i have yet to give him at welterweight.

I agree that except as a "moneymaker", this fight makes no sense whatsoever, it was strictly a business decision made by Bob Arum, et al.
Pacquiao is just one of my favorite fighters, mainly because, he's the best fighter in boxing right now, he fights often, and his fights are action packed & entertaining. I also believe that if Manny stops Shane, it would be very impressive, does that qualify me as a "Pacmaniac"?

Shane does but does Pac? I've never seen Pac hold . When he is hurt he leaves his guard wide open or goes on the run. He never ties up which is what Floyd had to do.
If Mosleygets into exchanges with Pac he may come off second best to the quicker man but if he times his shots and focuses on accuracy then those shots he caught the best defensive fighter with, will catch Pac. Thats when this gets interesting.

I agree 100% with this. Mayweather couldn't miss, Mosley wasn't firing anything back, and if PBF had just let his hands go he would have got the stoppage.

Good post, it wouldn't break my heart to see Mosley win this fight, I just don't see it happening, 5 years ago maybe, but not now.
Re: Does Manny stop Shane?
Manny will be facing the fastest and sharpest hands he's faced since coming up but Mosley MUST have a fast jab and not believe himself to be Frazier. No overselling right hand! He's not going to have to hunt for Pac and Mannys instinct when hurt, which at some point I think he will be early, is fight not flight. I'm in the minority but I think this will be a pretty competive fight from beginning to end and coin flip at this stage Manny by dec on a lumpy and bumpy Shane or Mosley midway tko. It's 1pm, the only thing being consumed is water ;D
