Geeze, good question, maybe just with Young? But that's not the issue. The issue is Foreman retained effectiveness past the third round in a way Tyson just didn't. Foreman stopped Ribalta late as an example.

Coincidentally Tyson stopped another Ribalta in the 10th round. You are mistaking the Tyson that came out of prison who had little technique and stamina after about 3 rounds with the young prime version who was fit and able to do 12 rounds.

I gotta have the Foreman name wrong. Peralta maybe? No the pre-prison Tyson was ordinary after three rounds. The Bonecrusher Smith fight is a perfect example. It wasn't fitness. He just didn't have any idea how to implement an alternative offensive plan if the guy was still standing in front of him when the bell rang for the fourth round! Now to be fair, neither did Young George.

Bonecrusher was a negative git that fight. He did nothing but spoil the fight until the end.
BTW I am not saying for certain Tyson would win but that probably would be the most exciting heavyweight fight of all time. Prime George v Prime Tyson.

I would agree if you said 1973 George Foreman with the knowledge, ring savvy, defense, and more polished skill set of the older George Foreman. Just think if the young Foreman had all of that?

george was interviewed and said that with his knowledge he would not have been silly enough to try and knock out Ali but try and win the fight on points with his jab. That may have worked.

Well Jimmy Young beat him quite comfortably points wise, and also took his best in 7th round and come right back.
Jimmy Young was very underrated he deserved decisions against. Shavers, Norton, Ali, but thats the way it goes.
As for George Foreman blowing away everyone, i think he loses to these guys.

There's probably quite a few others aswell, basically anyone who's a good mover with a good defense and a solid enough chin has a chance.

I heard George Foreman was avoiding him, when they were both in there 40's making there comeback. But i don't know if thats true or not, but what i do know. Is that Larry Holmes's comeback was very underrated.
He beat up Ray Mercer, lost a close decision to Evander Holyfield. And deserved to be world champion at 45 but lost a razor thin close decision to Oliver McCall, which i think he won 7 rounds to 5.

I think the George Foreman that knocked out Joe Frazier in 1973 and destroyed Ken Norton in 1974 beats just about everybody. Ali worked him out, he fought an unconventional fight and George wasn't ring savvy enough to alter the game plan accordingly.
Tyson would have been smashed inside 2 rounds, look what he did to Smokin Joe! Tyson would have just walked right into a George thunderbolt!
Holmes was a good enough boxer to perhaps outpoint him, he survived the Shavers knockdown and could take a punch, Lewis would be counting sheep.
