And then it took the Rock what? 90 seconds?

It's definitely a reality of boxing, if you plan to take it seriously at all.
I just recently had major problems in mine, as hematomas were building up inside nose everytime I sparred & it's only when I went to the hospital for a check-up that it got operated on before they burst and possibly bled into my brain.
My nose has been a bit flattened and can get slightly off to one side unless I pop it back straight. The most frustrating thing is now my nose is going any semi-decent shot I take. Lyle makes a point about using defensive skills, but the fact is if you're sparring or fighting anyone decent (& in the amateurs you're almost always matched with someone of a similar level of ability) than you are going to get hit & with your nose bang in the middle of your face it's like the centre of the dartboard to your opponent.
Thanks, CFH, this could very well be Ray Barnes, I was in my early 20's at the time, and Ray was about 20 years older than me, BoxRec lists his date of birth as 1929, and Detroit, Michigan as his hometown, this fits pretty good, he'd be 82 now. (i'm 62)
We both had a Union contract with the Teamsters (IBT) in the early 70's, and if I remember right, Ray came from Michigan to Tampa, Fla to get the job driving a truck. I was a boxing fan back then, but not an addict like I am now, so I didn't really ask him a lot of questions about his boxing career. I know we were both amazed in 1974, when Ali stopped George Foreman in "The Rumble in the Jungle", we thought Foreman was going to knock Ali out.
anyway cheers
If makes you look like this. :puke:
