But how do we know until he's taken on the cream of 147lb South Koreans?

Great question.. Im not sure about that one but the 80's Korean Legend, former IBF/WBA SMW champion, Park Chong Pal, would have gave Arreola a beating of his life.

Ah crossed wires. I was talking about brocktonblockbust. He's got real heavy hands. He said so.
Re: Chris Arreola's power
Arreola's best weapon is his burrito breath, when inhaled it causes his opponents to pass out.

I met a wellknown trainer in Newark, NJ's Red Brick Gym back in 1996, and he took one look at me and said I should fight at about 147. Im only 5 foot 6, and my normal out of shape weight is about 185. I know I woulda been good at 147, with real heavy hands for that weight.
Now Im in South Korea, and the 147 pounders are weak as shit, they couldnt knock out a fuckin fly or even a fly's egg. Im seriously thinkin of going into boxing at age 47 just to knock these weak ass motherfuckers out. Yes Im fighting in a much lower quality market, but hey, maybe Ill be the South Korean welterweight champ soon.
lol Which part of Korea are you in? You got to be kidding me though, Boxing isn't taken seriously in Korea anymore, that's why. The days of great Korean fighters has ended in the early 90s.. Korean kids nowadays are too well fed in every way that there's no longer that " Hungry Mentality " ... Those are the days of old and nobody wants to box anymore in Korea. I know some guys in the Korean Mob who would put guys to sleep if they decided to get serious about Boxing.
Koreans are some crazy, tough SOBs, that I know for a FACT and if you think it's easy to be a WW champ in Korea, you try.. Good luck bruh..
Im in LA but Ill be going to Korea in the summer.. Let me know if you want to spar..

hmm. Maybe he does but Koreans are known for their granite chins and ultra toughness. In Jin Chi had a chin that put Margarito to shame so ya know........
I can gather up some heads in Korea right now who could give brocktonblockbut some good sparring. Can you give him that message for me. ;D
Re: Chris Arreola's power
His natural raw power is pretty nice, but sometimes he looks like a gloved boxing bear delivering it.

I've talked with my Dad about his time in Vietnam and the the tenacity and hardassed-ness of the Koreans just left him wide-eyed in astonishment.

Definitely go for it. I just posted in the other thread, unaware that you actually do have very heavy hands. Also like you say you're in a market where there probably isn't much comp. Hell, you'll likely end up against our other South Korean based poster Miles & as he's a runaway leader for forum gay of the year, I think that tells you all you need to know about the competition over there.

Adam, c'mon man, you know boxing. Don't you remember that other guy who had mad power for his weight. He's a pretty decent name in the boxing world now. Hell, I seem to remember there was talk of him being Floyd's comeback opponent. I suspect this guy must have real power to have this level of confidence, so I think the least we at Saddo's can do is get behind him.
I am a little bit envious of blocktonblockbust's post actually, it's pretty good. I am in hysterics that this overweight, middle aged man is suddenly going to go into training and KO young, Korean WW's. A classic post if ever there was one.
It must have been the soju talking. ;D
Re: Chris Arreola's power
And I wouldn't fight Blocktonblockbust, but I am more than happy to take on the trainer role. It would be like TM and Kid Thunder. A real dream team.

Glad to see someone else remembers The Power Puncher I made a thread like a year ago and have made several references. Nobodys picked up on it. :p
He was awesome! :D

I gotta co-sign this comment...
Truth be told I don't consider him a devastating puncher.
He's got power but I wouldn't describe it as devastating.
Re: Chris Arreola's power
thx dudes 4 all your support, and thx to the dudes who told me to put down the drink.. Im actually not drinking anything. I just really wanna give it a try. A sober try. And yes, I have real power, I've been working out now since age 15, I weight 174 pounds and I can bench press 320 pounds one time. It is my max at bench press. I am the Rocky Marciano of the 147 pounders. Thanks for giving me a puncher's chance, and to those who dont think I have even a puncher's chance, I hope I can link up my 1st fight here on Saddo's so you can watch me KTF out a Korean at 147. I also hope he has 20 years on me, so you will see a 47 yr old KTF out a 27 yr old.

All in good jest, good fellow. I have been known to post the odd quirky statement or two under the influence. Good to know that it wasn't the case.
Have you done any actual sparring yet? And where do you watch these Korean WW's fight?

Do you know why Italians talk with their hands?
They can't stand each others breath ;D
Sorry Blockton you were saying you have heavy hands and you are Italian.. Good luck mate.
Personally I have such heavy hands, I couldn't be stuffed holding them up for more than about 40 seconds.
