Re: Has anyone ever become obsessed with you?
I'm more likely to get the obsessio. I didn't think it was that unusual but my brother told me that buying photographs online of girls you fancy and listening at the walls to hear my sexy new neighbours is not normal behaviour.
He even thinks facebook and google searches for pics of girls I've met and want to ogle over is weird too. Apparently it makes me like Robin Williams in One Hour Photo but I think all guys are the same.
If I meet a girl who is hot I instincitvely want to find out about her and ideally see her photographed in revealing outfits and compromising situations. Now thanks to the internet, I can.
if I'm weird because of this then I ask you all, why do you think social networking sites exist? We all do it.
Re: Has anyone ever become obsessed with you?
As to Miles not being impressed with a fellow cutter I'm assuming it's because her scars were pathetic and gave the impression of being a typically teenage plea for attention, rather than the assertive arm slashes of an alcohol fuelled, intellectual maverick's manly display of embittered emotion towards his unreasonable and irritating wife.

Re: Has anyone ever become obsessed with you?
One of my favourite films is Vertigo and that is about obsession too. I have only been properly stalked the one time and that was what I documented in my OP. It was a very interesting period in my life. Much more interesting than now.

Absolutely. Plus that was when I was young and quite normal myself. I just wanted a bit of fun with no ties. Harping on about a suicide attempt is no way to seduce a man.

Clearly everyone on here will have reacted exactly as you did.
Well, not now. But a long time ago, I have been compiling notes in an autobiographical way and so I thought I would start this topic as I thought it was kind of funny.
It really did piss me off because she was quite mental. I mean she liked me in a way that was freaky. I seem to attract all the weird women and this was no exception. The cut wrists and the talk of a former boyfriend that met someone from Japan etc. Just too much for a 23 year old which is what I was. I couldn't just sleep with her or help her practice sex. I had to escape and to be fair I was quite lucky in those days, so didn't need that kind of baggage.
But apparently after getting rid of her she shagged some other English guy who people said was my doppelganger, so good for her. But he told me she was weird too and wouldn't meet her again.
A Miles autobiography. Can't wait for that. ;D
Re: Has anyone ever become obsessed with you?
I've never bothered with a diary as I am just too lazy, but periodically I do reflect and think and make notes on things. It hasn't been the most exciting life, but it has always had interesting moments. I have ideas for 3 different books documenting key parts of my life. My only problem is finding the will to sit down and do it in the way that it needs. I always argue that Burroughs didn't write Junkie until his mid 30's so I've still time to find my motivation. The stalking thing would only be a minor part of one novel.

I think "Putting The Dog To Sleep" is the ideal title for the first chapter covering your difficult childhood period. Then "One, potata, two potata" could be the title for the story of your early musical education. Some other chapter names would include "Landing in Lilliput", the tale of your emigration to Korea, and of course an important educational chapter " On the problem of the Jews and final solutions", and a couple of light hearted chapters such as "American GI's, not all cunts actually", and "The Rice Cooker wars".
Would you include us Saddonians in your biography, I think we are a major part?
Oh, and the book would have to called "A Sticky Cunt Abroad".

That's a pretty good format, but is not really a story per se. Like I think a chapter on my musical discovery would be riveting, but it's really only descriptive of an interest of mine. But if I were to frame it within the context of my first proper female relationship then that would work very well. I discovered most of the great music, but there are actually some bands I still listen to that I didn't actually discover. One of my interests was making compilation tapes for people and likewise others did that for me too. So a document of that period of my life would be very interesting. I was at my best in those formative years, everything was new and a discovery and I was still quite idealistic and naive. I am quite nostalgic about some of the things in my life.
The Korean adventure would be an interesting one too. In my early years I was very sociable and met a lot of people. Some crazy stories and one or two involving me too, that stalker was one and there were other very funny ones too. I laugh now, but at the time it wasn't so funny. Then I guess I settled down and became extremely boring. I think I joined here when I started to stay home more and had a computer in the home for the first time.
There would have to be a chapter on the Jews, but mainly to outline that I only hate the state of Israel and not Jewish people themselves. My main thesis would be that I like Jews like Chomsky and Finkelstein very much and other Jews like Dershowitz less so. I would conclude with an argument that gassing Jews in their millions probably isn't very nice.
There are loads of things that I haven't shared on here that I think would add meat to the book. I would write it in a more considered, reflective way than I do on here. Here it is usually with red mist in front of my eyes and that's not how you write a book. Forums are for venting, books are for appraising in a considered way.
I think more books need to talk about online lives and so Saddo's life would have to be a part of it. This has been a central part of my life for half a decade or so now, so I couldn't just put it in the wardrobe. It would need a few words.
Re: Has anyone ever become obsessed with you?
Anyway becoming obsessed with someone isn't a cool thing to do. In fact, it is quite deranged. I would never think to become obsessed with anyone so why anyone would want to do that to me just bewilders me. I would be the worst famous person in the world, I would be punching photographers and throwing the stalkers out the windows. No man needs that in his life.

Re: Has anyone ever become obsessed with you?
Anyone remember the thread I did years ago on the "other" side?
About the 2 female co-workers... :-X
