Prime Danny Williams takes the lot of 'em. Fact.
Sorry Facster, no way Haye beats Bruno. Fact!
I like Haye's style in that match-up. Speed, smarter, has the power to stop Bruno. I see Bruno plodding after him and getting picked off.
Bruno has no height or reach advantage, clearly naturally heavier, not by Wlad standards though. I see no reason why Haye can't win. Obviously it's just fantasy rubbish...never know
Re: The best British world HW title holder apart from Lewis?
even tho bruno was the best hw of all time
haye would still win the fight, its a pity but its true
Re: The best British world HW title holder apart from Lewis?
This is a difficult one because I can see Haye beating Bruno by staying away and tiring him out. Hide could do it too but has a china chin. Akinwande was awkward but not great. Did not even realise Bentt was British, when did that happen, that must have passed me by. The 1990’s were the golden years for British world champions. To think Tommy Farr, Don Cockell, Henry Cooper and Joe Bugner all failed. In fact Joe Bugner would have beaten them all in his prime. For the record Horace Notice would have beaten all of them, Fenster Fact.

I rememeber even though Herbie Hide, went down like 6 times vs Riddick Bowe. In parts of that fight he made Riddick Bowe look bad, and rocked him on quite a few occasions. Riddick Bowe said Herbie Hide was the hardest hitting fighter he fought, that was probably before Andrew Golota beat him silly twice.
Re: The best British world HW title holder apart from Lewis?
Wow what a shit list that is all you guys have to thank god for Lewis then. I mean Bruno lost his big fights and so did the rest of them is that really all the champions that Brits also i not sure if eric is serious or not either lol.
Re: The best British world HW title holder apart from Lewis?
Also i never got how brits never had many heavyweight champs i mean are they not very big there. I can understand mexico not having one but the brits i never got how that happen to be honest with you. Anyhow i guess that list is not to bad just no really great fighters in the list really.
Re: The best British world HW title holder apart from Lewis?
I have one name that beats all....BOB FITZSIMMONS!!!
Job Biscuit (peasents)!!!
eh eh!!!
Re: The best British world HW title holder apart from Lewis?
Thought Bob was born else were i know he became citizen to England but i don't think he was born there. Is this list of fighters when they were born in England or if they became a citizen there. I mean if you count Bob then at least that makes the list better then having the others.
Re: The best British world HW title holder apart from Lewis?
he was born in Cornwall and he was my dad...so i should know!!!
job Biscuit (Spooner)!!!
eh eh!!

The opening posts says 'in the last couple of decades'. I think thats why.
Re: The best British world HW title holder apart from Lewis?
I'd put Akinwande above Hide. He lasted 5 with Lewis, I doubt Herbie would get out of round 1.
Its also a toss up whether Bruno was better that Henry. I could see Bruno stopping him but I can also see Akinwande pinning Bruno on the end of that jab all night.

he lasted 5 with Lennox Lewis because he held onto him like a women.
Re: The best British world HW title holder apart from Lewis?
Bruno is clearly the best of that lot.
If he was in his prime now he'd be world champ imo.
Look at the guys he lost to, Witherspoon, Bonecrusher Smith, Tyson, Lewis. No fighters of that caliber even around any more.

I know. Hide doesnt have the ability to hold he just falls apart. Henry was probably the better schooled boxer out of those two aswel IMO.

I agree. I think Bruno had tonnes of limitation, but also tonnes of talent and awesome power. He would be 3rd only to the Klits if around now imo. Before his inability in all these fights to cover up after getting caught, he was way ahead against Bonecrusher, clearly ahead against Lewis, very close against Witherspoon (won't mention Tyson ;D)
