Re: Do you have a Middle name?
I'd surprised if anyone could top mine...
My Dad wasn't all that keen on calling me Conrad so my Mom said he could choose my middle name. He took it upon himself when registering my birth to name me after my Grandad and all of his brothers.
So my name (minus my surname) is Conrad Derek Keneth Stanley Alan Victor... :o
So in total I have seven names, apparenty when I was Christened the Vicar was none too impressed. I went to the Doctors once where instead of my middle names on my medical card there was just the initials.
The Doctor looked at my names and said 'Conrad DKSAV?? Are you Polish or something?' ;D

Mother's surname is automatically the babies middle name in our country.
If Angelina Jolie gives birth to Bradd Pitt's baby and named him Leonardo.
The baby's name would be Leonardo Jolie Pitt. e.g

I like that tradition. It lets one trace the Mother's lineage as well. I dated a woman from Columbia who had too many middle names for me to remember, her mother, maternal grandmother, maternal great grandmother etc back IIRC seven or eight generations.
I'm of Irish stock. Middle name Patrick.

Its disadvantageous if the standard is having no middle name. so many people will share a name.
Millions of people would be named Michael Williams, Dennis Robinson, etc
Irish? Are people from Northern Ireland and Ireland considered as one people? Both are Irish right? Do you need a passport to go to the other side?
Pls excuse my ignorance.
Re: Do you have a Middle name?
None, neither does my sister.
Best thing ever.

My people are from West Cork mostly. The folks in the Republic Of Ireland are generally a mix of Irish and Viking and Norman and mostly Catholic. The folks in Northern Ireland/the Six Counties are generally of Scots-Presbyterian stock (who moved to Ireland in the 17th Century), who really think of themselves that way or as English, or the same backgrounds at in the Republic. I haven't been to the North since the Peace accords were signed. But last time I was there one did not need a passport, hell there weren't even checkpoints at the border in operation. Up North there was, at that time, a very tribal difference between the two groups.
I'm sure someone here has a more recent experience.
