If he did it was a smart thing to do. And a good thing. The referring in the Tszyu-Hatton fight was a fucking disgrace. Paris let Hatton do whatever he wanted. He impacted Tszyu-Hatton way more than Cortez did Mayweather-Hatton. There is no doubt Hatton doesn't win the Tszyu fight if not for his tag team partner ParisQuote:

Cortez nor any other ref would have stopped Hatton from repeatedly running into Mayweather's check left hook.
