I agree, I think that Cotto will be hungrier for the win than Margarito and fresher but I'm not entirely convinced he will be the victor. Margarito did make a mockery of his punches in the last fight brazenly eating them up.

Cotto needs to do a few things to give himself the best chance to win this fight.
1. Work on his stamina. He boxed masterfully for the first 6-7 rounds against Margarito the first time... and then ran out of gas and was a sitting duck for Margacheato's shots.
2. Follow the Mosley blueprint! Yes... as was mentioned before on this thread, Cotto needs to study that fight carefully. The difference? Cotto was raining punches on Margacheato's head, but off his BACK foot. Whereas Mosley made sure he put his whole body into every shot. He used his body smartly to push off Margacheato, and when he took his shots he put his whole body into them. Cotto needs to do the same thing.
3. Change up the pace. Cotto's a much better boxer than Margacheato (which granted isn't saying much)... and he can punch, too. But in the first fight he never changed his style. He boxed... he jabbed... he threw his punches off his back foot. He needs to keep the cheater off balance, like a pitcher mixing in changeups with his fastballs.
4. Put the first fight out of his mind. Easier said than done. Whether Margacheato cheated in that fight or not, he did put a fearful beating on Miguel. Cotto's faced was pretty destroyed from that fight. And it was Cotto's first loss. The psychological aspect can be a bitch. Miguel needs to leave that behind him as much as possible.
5. Put 2, maybe 3 people in the cheater's dressing room, witnessing the hand-wrapping. Like someone else said... double-check... even triple-check the damn wraps. Get into Margacheato's head.
And finally...
6. Listen intently and follow Emanuel's lead and instructions. I believe Cotto made a huge mistake by going with Joe ("Who the f***?") Santiago after his split with his uncle... and that may have cost him a decent chance at beating Pacquaio when they fought. Not saying he would have... just saying he would've had a better chance with Emanuel in his corner instead of Santiago.
I like that the fight is at MSG.... but I don't like the fact that the fight will be at 154. Margacheato being the naturally bigger man, will undoubtedly benefit from this. As I said before, I'm gonna be a nervous wreck before the fight.
Cotto should also do what Shane did and go to the body as we know Marg’s chin is made out of granite, also he could also aim for the eye where many cause a lot of damage. Really think Cotto could win this one quite easy.
