Re: Best fighter you've sparred
Funny, was at a team building thang yesterday, had to give an interesting fact about yourself so I said that I'd been in the ring with some (briefly) well known boxers.
Turns out the woman running the show was Billy Schwer's ex wife.
Nice lady, didnt make us build a raft.
Someone in the group had met Roy 'say what you see' Walker so I was very much second place in the interesting facts department
Re: Best fighter you've sparred
Thats him ,he is the one who was having trouble affording insurance for the kids he taught.
He trained a distant relative (through marriage) of ours to a high standard Cant remember his first name but Goodrich is his surname.

They didn't (or chose not to) hit hard enough to hurt or dissuade me, but any time I got close and threw? Woosh! They were somewhere else. It was bad.
I much preferred banging with bigger men...at least I could get my licks in ;)
There is no way that I could let this one go ;D
Re: Best fighter you've sparred
It would have to be my wife. Though I would never throw a punch back at her, kind of one sided really.

Freud would have a ball (er wait a minute) with that one huh?
Re: Best fighter you've sparred
I've sparred Zab Judah, Anothy Peterson, and alex bunema, but to answer who's the best of them, easily Zab.
Re: Best fighter you've sparred
Easily Terry Dunstan - That guy is so good, former European champion and would easily have become a World Champ had it not been for his long stint in prison. So much talent.
He pretty much used to toy with me (obviously I was nowhere near that level) - He'd let me have free body shots where he'd expose his ribcage, put his dukes up like the old queensberry rules style and STILL land shots on me lol
Sad about his first round K.O on the undercard of Haye/Klitschko - but Afolabi is one heck of a banger! A younger Dunstan would have beaten him i've no doubt.
As a side note he's a heck of a guy and had so much time for me in the famous Repton Boxing club when nobody else did. He'd constantly rip the piss out of you but when he gave you a rare compliment you knew it was sincere because of it. Top guy.

Myself. Shadowboxing. Tried to slip one of my punches but it grazed me. I staggered sideways and put a hole in the drywall. I went on to win a title while I was left patching the drywall.
