Style wise Burns could give MK lots of problems if he can withstand MK power.
I am going to stick my neck out and say Burns on points or maybe a late stoppage with MK all busted up around the eyes.
Great fight if itt happens.;D

You have to laugh when they say Burns is a big puncher. This is easier fight than Broner who is undefeated. Katasidis may be a bit shot but should apply enough pressure to get a decision but with Home town, WBO, Warren bias, Burns may nick the decision.

Haha, my thoughts exactly, who the hell has Burns ever stopped 95 year old Gomez? Add to that he is a new division with bigger stronger men.
Re: It's Burns v Katsidis for the vacant 135 WBO Title
Well Kats is certainly an easier opponent for Burns than Broner but its still a hard fight for Ricky.
If he gets it at home Im sure the crowd can lift him through the tough spells ( which will be the entire fight ) similra to his fight with Martinez when he fought out his skin and took his game to the next level.
I'd expect Kats to get his hand raised at the end of it but hope Im wrong and think it will be very watchable whil it lasts.

Everyone said the same when he fought Martinez and Burns did a great job on him. Burns is quite a bit bigger than Katsidis especially with Kat's crouching style, I give him every chance. Its a bit of a pick em but with home advantage I think Burns might nick it. Also i think Katsidis is a bit shop worn now from repeated batterings although no one can deny his heart.
I think Burns's career peaked with the Martinez fight and, being honest, he was overrated anyway. Katsidis lost, albeit badly, to JMM and Guerrero. Burns would suffer exactly the same outcome in the those fights. Katsidis also hits hell of a lot harder and faster than Martinez. As soon as Katsidis decides to let his hands go, which will be from the first bell as we all know, Burns is gonna be overwhelmed. Honestly can't see this lasting five rounds, let alone twelve. It is in no way a pick em fight.
Thats fair enough mate, its your take on it and im not gona disagree. Would it surprise me if Burns suffered a fate like Mitchell? No. But neither would I be surprised if Burns went the distance and boxed well enough to get a decision especially with the home advantage (we already saw what that can do for you in the Mcloskey-Prescott fight).
The way youre talking the bookies will price this up with Katsidis as a massive 1/8 favourite or something and it wont be anything like that price i'm sure. Be interesting to see what the bookies odds are when they are released
Boylesports have released odds, they are 9/10 the pair, so they cant split em. Kats stoppage is 2/1. I suggest you lump on Boxingbantz!
Re: It's Burns v Katsidis for the vacant 135 WBO Title
Burns has openly admitted that he can make the weight and he does not mind fighting Broner, which contradicts his camp who are making out he is struggling with weight. They should be truthful and say they are taking the higher profile fighter and title, for better money and in the best interest for Burns.
Re: It's Burns v Katsidis for the vacant 135 WBO Title
For those who think Burns will beat Katsidis first look at Burns fight record. Who the hell has burns fought to make anyone think he can beat Katsidis? Katsidis has fought more quality opponents such as Casamoyor, Guerreo, Marquez etc. Although he didnt beat those guys, he did give them a tough test. Those guys showed they had the tools to beat Katsidis and burns IMO does not have the tools needed to beat Katsidis. He has little punching power and katsidis is gonna walk right through his shots with ease. Katsidis will be too strong and relentless for burns to handle. Katsidis is gonna destroy Burns

Not surprising you're backing Burns when some people on this forum believe you are Ricky Burns. ;D

Re: It's Burns v Katsidis for the vacant 135 WBO Title
Credit to Burns for taking this fight, I was harsh on him for bailing on the Broner fight but this could be a bigger challenge! A case of out of the frying pan & into the pot!
Katsidis by 8th rd KO

The fact that I am Glasweigan means I will be firmly in Ricky's corner!
On a non biased level I think Ricky will have too much speed for him, but he'll have to watch out for MK's power!
