I do agree. There were just these rounds for Barker. Two were very even. The rest were for Martinez. Jim Watt's scorecard was more or less ridiculous: rounds 2,3,4,5 and 8 for Barker. Hardly any disagree that Martinez has more activity in ring and much more dangerous punches. So i would give only 2 rounds to Barker.
Here are cards by judge:
Lynne Carter 96-94
Victor Loughlin 97-94
Alejandro Rochin Mapula 99-91
Carter gave 4 rounds to Barker (too much). Loughlin 3 (near the truth). Mapula just one.
Jim Watt's scorecard was propably a fine british joke.

Barker easily won 4 rounds i don't understand all this talk of 1 or 2 rounds, Martinez done nothing in the 1st half of the fight really. And its only because Barker has suspect stamina that Martinez was able to comeback in the fight, because Barker's guard loosened and stopped throwing punches.
I don't blame you using british goggles. Barker was blocking most of the punches? Sure. But too many found their way to his head and ear. Even before round ten and eleven.

Nothing to do with being biased im not really a fan of Barker, i just fail to see what Martinez done in the 1st half that makes the fight ridiculously wide. Like you guys are saying because i didn't see it that way at all. I see Barker landing the clean punches and Martinez just looking at Barker, and dropping his hands and having his punches mostly blocked.

If you saw it different you are in the minority. Barker just didn't throw enough to win rounds. It is a much better fight without the commentary as well.

In Ice's defense, I've never known him to be biased towards British fighters.
I was half-watching the fight on a shitty stream in between rounds of the Marquez fight and from what I saw Barker was giving Martinez all he could handle early on.
Re: Barker vs Martinez, how did your card look?
I have nothing but respect for Barkers early showing but he didn't just wilt on his own. He wilted because Martinez made adjustments and found another gear.
I really don't get much of the debate on rounds in a fight that did afterall end in a clear KO! Ya came to fight, well done, we get it.
Re: Barker vs Martinez, how did your card look?
Seriously, so Barker won a few rounds, bloodied Martinez nose and made the fight competitive. The bottom line is, Barker was clearly losing the fight going into the 11th round and then got KTFO. So where's the fucking argument? Ans: there really isn't one.
Martinez won a tougher then expected fight, by KO, end of story.

What was Martinez doing though ? just dropping his hands looking at Barker, i really can't understand why people had it so wide. Martinez virtually done nothing in the 1st half, and Barker was the one landing all the accurate shots.

You keep rehashing an argument that most people don't agree with, what fucking difference does it really make if some folks had Martinez winning by a wide margin? Barker got KTFO, quit yer bitchin' and get over it.

That's really debatable, I believe Barker was hurt and in pain from an accumulation of punches to the left side of his head, saying he "quit" really isn't fair, it was more like he was unable to continue. I don't want to argue with you VD, that's just the way I see it.

Get over what ? im not even a fan of Darren Barker, nor did i make this thread. Im just voicing an opinion which is what this thread was about wasn't it ? the topic was "How did your scorecard look".
If you don't want to debate about it, then don't post in the thread. You seem to be one getting frustrated because i differ in opinion.
Im not really bothered if some people had it wide or not, i go with what i saw. But if people don't agree with me then fine i couldn't careless people have all sorts of different opinions regarding scoring.

It's not even that the knock out punch seemed to be a glancing slap. It's the way he went down. He rolled over on his back and started shielding his eyes with his gloves. Than at the last second he makes a half hearted attempt to get up

Yes the slapping inside off the glove ko shot was worthy of Calzaghe for sure , he made a career out of punches like that.
