Re: What if Chris Eubank and Motell Griffin had met up ?
Would like to see Calzaghe vs Montell as well think it would of been a pretty good fight. Another one i like to see is Hearns vs Montell i mean he was not the best at the weight but he was a hell of a boxer.

If it was simply when Griffin was hit his best then Eubanks was worn by then , if it is a prime vs prime then Griffin would still have won , as he outpointed d better (than Eubanks) Toney twice and rightfully won vs Jones as well .
Eubanks was taylor made 4 Griffin stylistically .
Griffin liked fighting cautious counter punchers and don't expect d man who beat Jones 2 lose 2 Eubanks .
I thought Montell Griffin got two gifts vs James Toney, the 1st fight was close enough but i feel James Toney edged it. But the rematch on the other hand was a total robbery James Toney won clearly.
And Montel Griffin didn't beat Roy Jones, he had some success early on. Then RJJ figured him out he floored Montel Griffin, then had him in deep trouble in the 9th round. And Montel Griffin was on the verge of being stopped.
I don't agree with what RJJ done hitting Montel Griffin while he was on one knee, but Montel Griffin surely made the most of it. But i don't see how you be a winner while laying on your backside.
The difference between the two is that Chris Eubank, at his best could go to another level. He had more heart and will, aswell as being the bigger puncher.
And prime for prime if Chris Eubank felt he was losing to Montel Griffin, he would of found a way to win. Chris Eubank wasn't always a cautious counter puncher the man was in quite a few wars.
IDK if and when u watched these fights .
If u did , then u were effected by George Foreman's commentary , he is James Toney's biggest nuthugger in d world . Toney didn't beat Griffin . Griffin was in trouble vs Jones when Jones did what he did , but would have made it 2d end of d round and recuperated during d break and would have been back 2 feeding Jones shit . Chris Eubank didn't win even against some stiffs in that tour of his , don't remember d tour's name but 1 of d fighters there was Dan Sherry , Eubanks didn't beat him .
Eubank's lost his O way b4 Steve Collins .
Lindell Holmes was 9 years older than Eubanks when they fought , just imagine if it was d opposite , Chris Eubanks in his 30s (D 1 who fought Calzaghe 4 instance) vs a prime Lindell Holmes . This is what his "win" vs Thornton is worth .
Montell Griffin fought d best while Chris Eubanks avoided d best and when he just came close 2 fighting d best he lost his "O" , despite he actually lost it much earlier against far lesser opponents .
Roy Jones actually used d jab a lot vs Griffin , he just didn't even try 2 land it because Griffin was countering him and pressuring him and if he gave Jones and Toney d problems that he did then he would have beaten Eubanks . Griffin was also stronger than Eubanks and was accustomed fighting bigger men than Eubanks and schooling them . How will Eubanks beat him with his jab if Eric Harding , a very good lightheavy who beat Tarver and probably Dawson 2 went down vs Griffin and I doubt both verdicts : Dawson's over Harding and Harding's over Griffin .
The 2nd Toney/Griffin is considered controversial, many people thought James Toney won the fight. I had James Toney winning clearly and didn't the HBO commentators think it was highly controversial aswell ?
I mean you talk about Chris Eubank's controversial decision's, but then forget Montel Griffin got a total gift vs James Toney in there 2nd fight. And the 1st fight was close enough that it could of gone either way, but i also felt James Toney won that aswell.
You really think Montel Griffin would of comeback vs Roy Jones ? he'd already been down in the 7th round, and was all over the place in the 9th round and actually did go down a 2nd time.
There's no way Montel Griffin would of survived, which is why he made the most of the situation by acting up which was obvious. And didn't he get destroyed in less than a round in the rematch ?
How many bigger men did Montel Griffin school ? he was destroyed by Tarver, Michalczweski. I don't remember him schooling anyone, the highlight of his career was getting a win over a lazy James Toney, but got a total gift in the rematch. And putting up a competitive fight with Roy Jones for 7 rounds, until he got worked out.
Chris Eubank was very physically strong also, as someone already pointed out. He was able to move up to Cruiserweight and stand toe to toe with a big punching Cruiserweight, so im not so sure than Montel Griffin is physically stronger than Chris Eubank.

I didn't think Toney won d fight and it is 1 of my most favorite full 12 rounders 2 watch , I watched it 5 times maybe 6 and don't think Toney beat Griffin in it .

It was not such a gift decision .

There is a possibility that Jones would have stopped him late but Jones was starting 2 gas himself as well which is y he felt d urge 2 foul like he did .
Regarding Griffin vs Jones #2 I will tell this :
Griffin was rushed in2 d ring without being allowed d time 2 get himself ready b4 d fight , which
was completely deliberate and planned of course which is y Jones appeared so surprisingly
aggressive , it was that simple : Jones "caught" Griffin cold after being told by his people who took
care that Griffin will come cold in2 d ring .

Griffin gave both Toney*2 and Jones even fights and may have a claim in beating Eric Harding who beat Tarver and gave Jones a tough fight himself until he injured himself .
Re: What if Chris Eubank and Motell Griffin had met up ?
I haven't really seen enough of Montell Griffin...however, Chris Eubank wears a monocle. Therefore, he wins.
Nobody beats Eubank..Steve Collins cheated with his hypnosis crap and Calzaghe fought him with only 10 minutes notice. Karl Thompson also did voodoo on Eubank's eye to swell it shut as he didn't lay a glove on Chris. Compubox counted 0 punches landed for Karl at the time of the stoppage if I remember right. A record for sure.
Chris Eubank was amazing, my favourite British fighter of all time  Forget his record..remember the memories.
