Re: Fifa 12 - defending....
Tactical defending would make the game more realistic if player movements were implemented properly.
More often than not, i find that i can be as patient as i want, but as soon as i select a player to make a tackle, or at least close the ball down, the rest of the defence (controlled by the AI) will repell against eachother, thus creating a big gap for their striker to run through. It's happened in nearly every Fifa game i've ever played so it's not a new problem.
That aside, Fifa 12 is good this year. I'm enjoying it.
I played the PES12 demo (only the 1st one) and i enjoyed that aswell. I'll more than likely buy PES12 on the PC because of all of the modding. PES12 just has a nice feeling about it. Players aren't over responsive like they are on Fifa. I just wish they could fix the keepers.

I'd love for it to be better I really would, I'm still PES deep down. I couldn't really give ashit about the real player names and the kits, it's a nice touch, but the actual game is far more important. Although it is good fun to get thrashed when playing as my beloved Plymouth Argyle!
All the things you said about FIFA (scripted, feels like its on tracks, all goals look the same) was what I hated about PES last year, it felt like they had taken the bits I'd always hated about FIFA and made that integral to the gameplay. The animations were screwed last year too, all players ran like they were in the paralympics!
This years FIFA is the best football game I've ever played I think, a few glitches, but nothing that has affected me too bad.
I'll let you know how I get on with PES, I was going to get Gears of war 3 this weekend, so PES best be good!
So James, did ya try the new PES then, how did ya get on with it if ya did ?
