CFH what did you think of the trade recently? I couldn't be happier that we got rid of sammy, I was tired of his weak play and Sturm had only played a few games so who really knows how he was gonna turn out but it wasn't looking good.
Well, Sammy has played like shit for a while, but he was always money in the playoffs. Sturm got a contract that way overpaid him this summer and he's obviously never going to recover from his leg injuries, so we didn't lose anything there.
Booth was great a couple of years ago, but the Mike Richards and David Steckel caved in his head. If he's past his concussion issues, he'll probably look pretty good beside Kesler, but from what I've read Florida fans are pretty happy to see him go.
I've been glued to the hockey forum all day though because multiple sources are saying that Gillis isn't done dealing yet. Chris Tanev has been given a 'maitenance day' down on the farm and a lot of people think we're going after Turris from Phoenix. However, while I'd love to land Turris, it would likely cost Schneider and/or Hodgson AND Tanev, and that's a huge overpayment.
Do you post or read any hockey forums? I'm a regular on HFBoards.
Much like this place I read mostly and don't post often but I do read HFBoards and I am at the Canucks board alot.
The Canucks board is pretty ridiculous most of the time though but they are fast on posting trades and news.
I'm thinking Booth has a good chance of upping his game here in Van and will be good for us, last season he played all 82 games and really playing in Florida and how good can you look.
also on the trade we got our 3rd rounder back so Gillis could make a offer sheet if he was wanting to. I could see Raymond going somewhere else as Hodgson to me looks really good so far.

Unfortunately for Hodgson, he's now on the third line with the acquisition of Booth. Frankly, I think that's a receipt for failure as he's always been an offensive player.
Re: What's your favorite sport?
Football was always my first love but Im slowly but surely losing interest in it Im afraid, dont even watch match of the day religiously anymore :-\
At the moment Im loving my tennis, play once a week, practice 2 or 3 times a week.
I'll watch any major championships to be fair, doesnt really matter what sport, I love it all.

Yeah I was really liking how Hodgson looked so far. at least they are putting him at 3rd line center and not on the wing. Malhotra can still take the important draws and him and hodgson are opposite handed so it will work out. but where would raymond fit into the picture when he comes back? Raymond/Tanev/Shroeder for Turris?
Out of all of our young guys the player I would not like to see leave would be Schneider, he is our future goalie for sure.
Did you join the sportsnet fantasy pool?

Nah, I never do any fantasy stuff. Too much effort.
Unfortunately, Schneider will go. It's either him or Luongo, and it's not going to be Luongo. Truth be told, at this point I'd rather have Schneider. I still think Lu, when he's on, is a fantastic goalie, but I'm sick of the whirlwind of bullshit that constantly surrounds him. He's the most polarizing Canucks I have ever seen.

Muff Diving, best sport in the world. ;)
Re: What's your favorite sport?
i ahd some friends from the Dominican Republican and they told me seriously there's a sport there called "Chingacabra" or "Coger Burros" in which the people drive out into the countryside, drink large amounts of rum, and then run out into the open fields chasing donkeys, tackle them in a group tackle, and fuck them. I couldnt believe it but years later other Dominicans have confirmed they do in fact do this. Is that a sport do you think?
Re: What's your favorite sport?
