Yes, but it took Bad Chad twice to do it. Glen Johnson gave Bad Chad a run for his money the first time. What do you think would happen if Bute got another crack at Glen Johnson? Plus Bute and Glen Johnson are good friends. If there ever was a situation where it could be argued a fighter "carried" another fighter, it was that fight. I'm not saying it happened, but the complete shut out Bute laid out makes you think twice.Quote:

Erics44, I think what you're getting at is that Ward either doesn't have a killer instinct or he doesn't have a big punch. I believe it is the latter and if he possessed a bigger punch, he'd be a bigger star. Same goes for Tim Bradley. It may be worth it for him to sit down on his punches just for his career as a prize fighter. On paper, do you think a fight with Bute and Froch sounds more fun to watch or a fight between Bute and Ward?Quote:

On a side note, when asked about the matchup between Ward and Froch, Andre Dirrell actually gave Froch a lot of credit. He said he is very awkward to fight. It's harder than it seems on the screen, but he also gave the nod to Ward in this one.
Odds are almost even? Froch is a fair underdog over here in his own country, I'd have thought he'd be even further out in the States? I doubt anyone will get anywhere near even money on Ward.
You have to respect Froch's attitude in wanting the best fight-after-fight. I read he has a gentleman's agreement to give Pascal a rematch in Canada too.

he beat kessler up, appart from that he has beaten other contenders that have been beaten better and more decisively before
so to say he is superior to froch in so many ways (like teath did) may or may not be true but as yet he hasnt shown or proved that

IMO even as a Froch fan he is the underdog in all three of these fights but no doubt out of any 168 fighter around now he is more than capable of achieving these wins. Hes looked really impressive as of late and he has improved a lot and gained so much experience due to the SS.
I hope he can get through the Ward test, but no doubt he has a very tough fight against him. I hope he can do it though, he deserves it IMO. Im not saying froch beats ward, ive not seen a massive amount of ward, i here hes very slick, the one thing i do no is froch is in no way to be wrote off!! Froch punches very hard, has a granite chin and battles till the final bell, take the taylor fight (i think we can all agree this was before taylors major decline) froch got out classed nearly every round, got put on his arse and still had the will + power to get the ko, not an great performace for froch but still ground the win out, i dont see froch winning on points (especially on away turf) but it wudnt suprise me if he gets a ko win, either way given frochs workrate+power i think its gona be wards toughest fight!
Please, God, let me find someone who thinks Froch at even money is a fair bet.
Disagree about him being outclassed every round. Taylor for 4 rounds is one of the most outstanding fighters ever but he can't sustain it over 12 rounds. He was ahead but Froch took control of the fight in the later rounds. I knew Froch would stop him late he was catching up on Taylor and he ended the fight in empahtic style.Quote:

I can't really see Froch beating Ward but Froch is a tough and determined fighter so he may pull it off. Can't fault the guy he's always willing to fight the best.
