Andre Ward vs. Carl Froch Showtime Staredown (full)

I am not a big fan of either fighter. Ward is not fun to watch. Froch's style is odd. I like the personality clash to make a good fight. I think Ward will be more confident and Froch will be scared to get close. Ward should command the fight, but if Froch can convince himself to get in there it might be more than Ward is prepared for. Froch's defense is to stay far way so its going to be tough for him to throw himself into uncomfortable territory. Froch has the strength to push Ward. Its interesting.

Dirrell takes them both. Already beat Froch. If he and Ward ever fight I see him taking the win there too. As long as he is healthy.

I'm not convinced yet Dirrell can take a punch well and I'm not convinced that he will be back since the Abraham punch did him in. He also appeared to duck Andre Ward in a way. Thus, I'm not really high on Dirrell at this point, but at the same time, I can see a big upside. I can see him being a force in the division. His brother looks like a crazed psycho killer, complete lunatic, doesn't he?

I really like Froch, but I see Ward winning this one quite clearly on the cards

Great watch.

Both are clearly quite smart and it was an articulate conversation. Something you don't see that often with some of the brainless meatheads there are around.

I'm really looking forward to this and I hope Carl can drag him into a war.

Loved watching that... Froch usual gameplan is to block punches with his chin and I can't see this fight being any different.

but I have a strange feeling he might just win this one... and I really don't expect him to.

360, face off's geeeezzz why don't they just change thier name to showhbo. Like everything else this is a great tool for people that don't watch boxing. Im gonna do this , im gonna do that, i'll die in the ring then bam one guy gets a hurt toe or some shit all that talk goes out the window and they hug in the ring after. I don't see ward having too many problems with froch, and if he does he'll hug headbutt and potshot his way to a win. Worst part will be after when justified or not people cry about the things i just mentioned ward will do when everyone in the world knows it's coming. Like bradleys head, floyds elbow, b hops everything. You know what the guy is going to do so instead of bitching about it find a way to negate it. Froch is a better fighter than i originally gave him credit. But ward is way better at what he does than froch is at what he brings.

It's gonna be a headbutt fest isn't it!

Froch set the standard by giving the example of when he got low blowed he returned the favour.

I think Froch can win, but I don't think he will.

Like many Brits before him in their defining fights, he'll get caught up in the momment, lose his game plan and just attempt to headbutt Ward back or lose his cool and get picked off.

I hope I'm wrong.

Here's a nice little video from last week's Ringside on Froch and a little bit of his training. It's going to be a really tough ask, Ward is a bad match up stylistically for Froch, he's slick, has very fast hands and is a smart fighter too. Here's hoping he pulls it off though, Froch is a tremendous fighter in his own right and won't be an easy night's work for anyone. Can't wait.
